Part 4 is here:

People need to stop getting so pissy about others not wearing masks. Realistically they do nothing.

I can't believe how much this whole thing has turned people into busy bodies. The Perth subreddit is full of people encouraging others to report people they know for breaching rules and taking joy in people getting fined. What a bunch of ******* losers.

I figure if you are really worried about getting COVID then worry about your own actions first. If I was catching the train and we were getting community transmission every day and it was packed with people coughing then I would get the shits, but given no community transmission seems a good enough reason to shut everything down then that situation is unlikely. Someone walking their dog in the park not wearing a mask (person, not dog) who gives a ****?

The only people who should really care about what others are doing are business owners who don't want to get fined for what patrons are doing.

Lockdowns and then no transmissions are losing all effectiveness - people just don’t take them seriously anymore and that’s the downside to what the health officials are trying to achieve - they really are in a no win situation

Low population density, lots of sun and healthy active people means transmission here is much less likely even for these super dooper triple double mutant strains.

How long before the masks stop?
haven't confirmed anything for Saturday onwards, guessing it'll probably stop in a week and a half when they (hopefully) remove the remaining restrictions

Lets not say he is from victoria when its pertinent because he has travelled back there where the case was found. Fair bit of snowflake Herne about his precious victoria in the last page.

It's not about the precious Victoria, it's McGowan's grubby deflections, yet again. Typical politician, if you say something often enough it will get in people's heads and they'll forget about the big picture.

He's said nothing about the ineptitude of the system he's in charge of, he's at the end of his tether with the federal government and the infected person is a Victorian, from Victoria who is now back in Victorian.

Smoke and mirrors.

if you look at the last couple of elections I think it would be easy to draw the conclusion that it’s not just premiers but that most people are behind their states and that they’ve all had a gutful of the federal govt

The political balance in Australia has definitely shifted and in my view COVID has been the cause. There is greater enthusiasm for State government as people saw the real effects of States doing things like border control, lockdowns and mask mandates, while seeing COVID rampage through most other countries in the world, and the struggle of the Victorian second wave. Whether you agree with it or not, COVID has been a godsend for State politics.

Ive got a bridge for sale

This is the guy running the country

“He also describes the misuse of social media as the work of “the evil one”, in reference to the Devil, and called on his fellow believers to pray against its corrosive effect on society.”

“I’ve been in evacuation centres where people thought I was just giving someone a hug and I was praying, and putting my hands on people … laying hands on them and praying in various situations,” he says, referring to a visit to Kalbarri in the Pilbara in the wake of Cyclone Seroja.”

On a 2PP basis the coalition and opposition are virtually neck and neck.

The Federal government and ScoMo are doing well in spite of, not because of their handling of COVID. Look at elections in WA, Queensland and New Zealand as examples of resounding endorsements of their governments handling of COVID, and look at the US as an example of what can happen if you stuff it up.

Anyway, apologies for turning this into a politics thread. I really should know to leave well alone.
