Part 4 is here:

They're already creeping into decent venues like The Local and Percy's. Ffs the former never had bouncers and now it does every weekend due to the shit campaigners inhabiting it on Saturday nights.

What do you care? Won’t these bouncers keep out the riff raff you are having a go at?

There's no way Freo Council have moved Hungry Jack's out to try and tidy the place. I mean this is the same council who approved two 7 Elevens. What a turd those things are. Visually terrible, ruins the streetscape, and ethically kaput with the way they've treated employees who work just about the worst job and shifts possible.

It'll be some franchisey shit.

Then the same people who only visit on weekends and exclusively drink at scummy Woolworths pubs and eat at (ughghghghg) the 'Cocktail and Meatball Place' will proceed to say how filthy and shit Fremantle is. Ah. Irony.

It's not long until the better part of Freo is overrun by these same campaigners. They're already creeping into decent venues like The Local and Percy's. Ffs the former never had bouncers and now it does every weekend due to the shit campaigners inhabiting it on Saturday nights.
Probably a case of the lease being up the landlord wanting improvements or the like.

Long story short... no.

Also, milling about on the streets because they can’t get in. Not a great idea. These places are smaller anyway but it’s a shame when you go somewhere like Who’s Your Mumma and it’s filled with 19-year olds in basketball singlets swearing loudly.

I like Dome. Lots of choice on the menu. Fast service and it's never crowded. Comfy chairs.
Yeah I've never had any issue with Dome. We go to the East Freo one every now and then. Nice venue, large variety of stuff and I'm not a coffee snob so its fine by my standards.

It’s just overpriced, beige food cooked before hand, with fake or indifferent service. I don’t go out for breakfast really ever, but it’s the one thing Australia has owned and made its own. There’s so many options that are better in just about every way.

It's a coffee chain, not really any different to Coffee Club or Gloria Jeans etc. minus the religious nutbag ownership. Not terrible but each one is the same as the next which is what you want from a chain anything. For what it is it doesn't really need picturesque old buildings. Dome in the middle of Garden City is no different to Dome in Maylands in that old hotel building.

Why is variety on a menu such a good thing? 'variety' generally means they'll have 50 mediocre things to choose from. Far from being delighted, I am concerned when I see a breakfast foods, burgers, pizza, steak, lasagne, seafood etc. all on the same menu.

Most cafes have the standard breakfast fare plus maybe a burger or selection of sandwiches for lunch.

Dome is expensive and poor quality. Not really sure what it has going for it other than being commonplace, open for longer hours, and the bland 'safe' option for a meal.

Variety on a menu is overrated. Gordon Ramsay will tell you that. Do a few things and do them well, you ****ing twat.

Variety between menus is great. Some people love Dome and that's fine, coffee in particular in Perth is a massive spectrum. Some people want one of those giant Starbucks sized cups with the coffee made 'extra hot' which is basically a pint of milk with all the flavour boiled out of it. Old Italians and Greeks want the strongest espresso you've ever seen with not a drop of milk in sight. Each to their own.

I like that cafes around where I live/work/visit are different. Some do good sandwiches or pizzas or salads or whatever and a lot of them mix it up regularly with a few new things.

Safe is probably a good term. Its good if you have different people to meet or take out as its variety can cater for everyone. Of course there are independant cafes that are better at what they do but for the average Joe, Dome is fine.

Considering how high he rates the local, he's obviously a hipster that doesn't like other hipsters working his corner.

Side note. The town centre of freo is still massive shithole thanks to the dirty communist council that continue to run it into the ground.

Going out for coffee (regularly) seems like such a privilege. I dunno. There's also nothing wrong with ragging on bad coffee. You pay for it, you can criticise it. It's also one of the few things Australia gives a shit about and has made its own. I'm not going to listen to some bloke in a quasi-bondage apron tell me about beans but ya know, it's a nice thing to wake up and have a good coffee in the morning.

I don't really think it's snobbery to hate Dome. It's expensive trash that's pre-heated scrambled eggs and white bread. The service is akin to something you'd get at Big W. I don't think I've been to one but if I'm going to go out for breakfast, there's so much competition in cafés that it's pretty hard to go into one worse than Dome.

The only real food snobbery is looking down on less expensive, less regarded cuisines or people who can't afford to go out or buy certain things. The joke is, it's cheaper to live off healthy, varied vegetables and basics than it is to buy watered up Woolworths meat or pre-packaged lasagnas.

We've been to Kings Park for a BBQ breakfast on Christmas Day 3 out of the last 5 years. With half the family living NOR it is a good halfway point. My cousin has 2 young kids as well so it is a chance for them to have a play around.

Other than that I never go to Kings Park.

I went there after boot scooting class a few years ago
