We bought a 30 acre block and managed to put our house in the direct location of the natural flow of water (we live at the end of a cul de sac) over the years I’ve put speed humps in my driveway to push the water away and then built concrete spoon drains out the front and side of house as a quick dump of 25mm would have me flooding. Works a treat now.Saw the rain reports, but it apparently didn't rain much in my area (according to internet readings).
Meanwhile I'm hoping it doesnt rain much to spoil my holiday![]()
. Friday and Saturday look to be interesting wet weather days.
An old rant of mine might be still on this forum but, I remember when 40mm of water (within an hour) was enough to flood in and around my house. Made a few modifications, adding extra down pipes on the roof and getting rid of tree roots that blocked the drain to the footpath = all systems go. Even when there were more severe events after that, no more flooding in. The crap side of living in a flood zone area.
I did just check my tank inlets and found two birds nests completely blocking my down pipes
