Hope everything turns out okay for them. There is more to life than football, he made the right choice. We still love you Jimmy. :thumbsu:

Clearly all our best wishes with James and his family, and as Eddie basically said, there will be a spot at the Collingwood Football Club in the future.

I'm glad this has come out now, puts stops to the all the rumours surrounding why he retired early, and just shows the character of the man.

Good Luck James and Family.

It was quite refreshing to see a player who was not only an outstanding footballer, but one who was articulate and showed intelligence beyond that of your stereotypical footballer. He gave us great service both on and off the field, and no matter how dissapointed we all were with his shock retirement, some things in life are more important.

All the best to Jeanne, James and family, and here's to a speedy recovery.

I always wondered what was the true story behind his retirement, so thanks for the post.

Here's hoping his beautiful wife can return to full health. No amount of money in this world can substitute for good health. It's the most precious gift we have.

I'll echo the sentiments of everyone here in wishing Jimmy and family all the best. He's been a great servant of the club.

The thing that pisses me off is that we were told that he had retired for personal reasons, and there were STILL people who were angry at him for retiring early.

There's some selfish people out there that should feel very, very ashamed right now.

I thought it was his child, but in either way he had his priorities straight we all love the CFC more then anything but family always comes first.

Well done Jimmy great career, great man, great choices:thumbsu:

Good luck to Jeanne with the kidney transplant, hope all goes well. Well done Jimmy, as much as we all miss you, there's more to life than chasing a pill around an oval.

Look forward to the day Jimmy returns as BUCKS assistant.

:thumbsu:. Legend, as I've said on the main board.:thumbsu:

Best wishes to Jeanne. No question he has his priorities straight.

Look forward to the day Jimmy returns as BUCKS assistant.

I'm thinking with his financial nous and future networking he might be more suited to a CEO or even El Presidente role.

He'd have my vote. There's a lot of current Pies who also look up to him and I reckon together they'd be an awesome board of directors in years to come.
