Has the constitution of a bull - banged up through constantly launching himself at packs where he's outnumbered, multiple surgeries at the end of every year, yet has missed 3 games in 9 years. He'd take the field on crutches if they let him.

He has been a very maligned player. It must be the red hair.


He most likely resented it, but toed the line and the team is better for it. Which is more than Matthew Lloyd did - wanted to play out of the goal square and undermined the coach when he was forced to move.

Well...Im not sure we disagree. Has matured into a gun and is more team focused now. Still not close to Nick.

I mean it partly is. Everyone that played is responsible for not winning that drawn grand final.

I agree with what youre saying, but everyone still uses it. Doesnt matter if it makes sense and its not just limited to AFL, NBA is exactly the same.
Premierships/Championships do make a difference in a players legacy.

Riighto mate. Guess we only even made the Grand final because GWS didnt turn up and we only made the prelim because Geelong didnt turn up! And we only made the finals because our opponent didnt show up 15 times!
Unless Im not remembering correctly, Adeliade actually where on top early and looked the better team. Is that wrong?
Almost like Richmond just outplayed Adelaide, like they did to GWS and Geelong aswell.

Jesus christ having a go because he had some fun after the win? That thing that EVERYONE loved seeing him do?
Kinda unbelievable how people somehow get outgoing and confident mixed up with arrogant and selfish.

Nick could still have a big impact on a game even without kicking goals, for a full forward like Jack he needs to kick at least 2 or 3 goals to have an impact.

That couldnt be more wrong. Jack hasnt played as a set full forward for 4-5 years.

I’ve always said that Jack’s general persona is a bit floggish but that is pure garbage on your behalf. It almost physically hurts me to compliment any Richmond player but I feel like I have to call your post out. Jack has been absolutely enormous for the younger players at Richmond, in particular the smaller forwards at his feet. You don’t get to be in an official leadership role in a successful team if you’re “not a great leader”.

One bad bounce of the ball was all that separated him from being a premiership player, leaving aside of course the multiple finals series he played in while your club was in the doldrums. Besides winning a premiership doesn’t define one player’s relative ability, Bob Skilton, Robbie Flowers, Nathan Buckley, Plugger Lockett and Matthew Pavlich were all-time champions who lost out on winning a premiership in their careers, while players like Tom Boyd have a flag to their name. Go figure.
 
Nick was the better player and that’s no slight on jack. But jack does not get nearly enough credit that he deserves elite vision and can hit up a target on both pegs brings our smalls into the game and has turned into a quality leader
