Can anyone honestly see 6 of the 8 SANFL clubs voting yes to allowing AFL reserves teams into the SANFL competition? There are 2 clubs already who won't be prepared to change their mind from a no vote no matter what happens (Centrals and the Bays).
I can't see it happening unless the SANFL clubs want a quick cash grab.
This decision is critical to the future success of the 2 AFL clubs in SA and as a result this vote should be taken away from the SANFL clubs who have their own vested interests.

See this is where footy in SA is all wrong. The decision needs to be made by an independent umpire (SA Footy Commission). All of the SANFL clubs have too many vested interests. It will be laughable if the only reason the SANFL clubs vote YES is because they want the money. So you're saying that the clubs who will have the biggest impact in having the Crows/Port reserves sides in their competition should have no right to vote on this.
This is South Australia, not North Korea. The SANFL clubs - and SANFL clubs alone - have every right to vote this concept in or out. The Crows/Port have no right to tell another competition 'We're putting reserves sides in your league competition whether you like it or not'.

Well of course they do - they're playing in the competition and don't want it compromised by having 2 sides in the comp that are more interested in player development than winning a premiership.
Playing tomorrowDid Crouch play?

No different to what Bassett has been preaching with Norwood. Has every team - league, reserves, 18's, 16's, development squads - working to the exact same pattern and style of play. So that players can move up and down through the grades easily without having to start from scratch and get their head around a new structure. Same concept.
Which Centrals have been doing for many years before Bassett instilled this at Norwood.
Matty Wright with 11 disposals already, only 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter
Crouch with 6 disposals at the same time

As a Westies fan.. no. He's just a front runner. Seen it a lot now at Westies games. Take him back into the league side, we're better without him.Have the crows said to only play crouch for a certain amount of time again? I havent noticed him get a stat for a while
West AdelaideHe's a 19 YO kid......certainly a long history in the game to support your theoryAs a Westies fan.. no. He's just a front runner. Seen it a lot now at Westies games. Take him back into the league side, we're better without him.

West AdelaideBased on side selection policies as they appear AP .....Couch won't get a call up until he dominates ....particularly with Wright making a stronger case for a recallCrouch was okay, tidy disposals but didn't really influence the game all that much. Equal most possessions for West with 20 (9 kicks, 11 handballs) and 4 clearances. Regardless, he should definitely be in the Crows team next week.
