Alrighty people, it's come time to present the Season 26 Hall of Fame Inductions. Firstly, I'd like to thank Barrybran for his work on the graphics, and kdavva74 and Hate for various collation tasks. The Hall of Fame was first established in Season 13 with 6 inaugural inductees and it was decided that 2 will follow in each of the subsequent seasons. For those who have continued to build their legacy in the league after their induction some Hall of Famers were elevated to Immortal status. It was decided that the ratio of Immortal to Hall of Famer was not to exceed 1:5. The Hall of Fame recognises a mixture of both playing, posting and services to the league.

Tonight we will induct two members into the Hall of Fame along with elevating one existing member to the status of an Immortal. For those who are new the Hall of Fame has been determined through the process of a public nomination initially, followed by a discussion to shortlist the nominations in the Committee and then a vote on a yes/no basis. This season I also involved the currently active Hall of Famers in a discussion and relayed their input to the captains in the committee. It was suggested that a specialised Hall of Fame committee be designed to incorporate the views of veterans and currently prominent posters alike going forward and this will be considered in subsequent seasons.

Existing Hall of Fame:

boncer34 (HoF S13, Immortal S16)
Mobbenfuhrer (HoF S13, Immortal S16)

First induction for Season 26 is former administrator Hate. Hate's CV really speaks for itself as someone who has done it all in the league in a short amount of time. With a premiership, multiple All-SFA selections (+ captaincies), along with stints as admin, simmer and statskeeper contributing to twice receiving the Frankston Rover Award he certainly possesses one of the most complete resumes in the league. As a tribute, two people he has worked closely with over the journey in The Filth Wizard and Ljp86 have prepared some words.

Induction Speeches:

"Hate is one of the most underrated backroom cogs in the Sweet FA and his work over the last six seasons is substantial and potentially without peer. As his own personal trailblazer it's a joy to see him admitted into the Hall Of Fame for his contributions to the league. From his work as simmer and his extraordinary efforts in maintaining the statistics side of the league, to his brief but eventual (and unfortunately timed) season as admin, Hate puts up every time. He's maintained a steady level of popular quality posting since his entry into the Sweet FA (a characteristic that made me pinpoint him immediately for the nWo season and future leadership for the Dragons) and doesn't have to post much to say a lot.

The real key to his entry into the Hall Of Fame, for me, is his willingness to carry the slack and the dirty work, the nitty gritty little stuff most are loathe to do and he does it without complaint, in fact he's probably revolutionised the stats and therefore history of the league. (Like his personal trailblazer) his achievements aren't mired in what the sim produces but in what he personally produces to benefit the rest of the league. As a former admin, and longtime poster of some seniority it is without doubt that the most importance comes from the jobs I would have been helpless doing alone/at all. Congratulations Hate, you are a well deserved entry into the Hall Of Fame."

- Former Administrator, Hall of Famer The Filth Wizard
"Congratulations to Hate on being inducted into the SFA Hall of Fame, his induction is one which is an absolutely fantastic achievement and I have no doubt that Hate will continue to be an important contributor to the SFA both on and off the field in the near future.

My dealings with Hate have mostly been at the Dragons in his time as a player but also as captain of the club. His on-field performances for the Dragons in that time were excellent, highlighted by five All-SFA jumpers, two Best and Fairest awards with his off-field efforts in that time being just as impressive. Hate's commitment to the Dragons from a captaincy, playing, posting and statistics perspective in his time at the club were always first-class and is an excellent reflection on him as not only an SFA player but also as a person as well.

I have had a number of chats with Hate over the seasons he has been here and he comes across a genuinely likeable guy, someone who is very much committed to what he does but also a great person in general. Our mutual interest in stats and records within the SFA has lead to several conversations in that time, not only about stats but about clubs and the league in general. Having spent time talking to Hate, I have been able to witness his statistics work and how much time he has spent extracting and collating the information he possesses in order to be able to provide the statistics and information he does for the competition today. This work and these contributions have been extremely impressive as evidenced in the SFA Archives board and shows the amount of dedication he has had to the cause, spending many, many hours extracting and collating information over several seasons, simply as a volunteer who was just happy to help out and bring enjoyment and provide information to other people within this competition.

Some people may question Hate's induction due to the shorter amount of time he has spent in the SFA but as a Hall of Fame member myself and one of only four people to be recognised as an Immortal, I can say that Hate's induction into the SFA Hall of Fame is one which is very much thoroughly deserved and there is no-one else in the competition who deserves this honour stowed upon them at the present time. His work within the SFA has been extremely impressive and the SFA's statistical records and information wouldn't be what it is today without his contributions over the time that Hate has been a part of this competition.

Being inducted into the SFA Hall of Fame is a fantastic achievement and one which is hard to achieve. Those who make the Hall of Fame are the best of the best is this is an honour that is bestowed upon very few. Once again, I would like to congratulate Hate on being inducted into the SFA Hall of Fame and hopefully we will see his contributions within the SFA for many seasons to come."

The second induction for Season 26 is Las Vegas Bears Premiership captain Dingster. Dingster has a displayed a great deal of longevity and dedication over the course of his 308 game career starting out all the way back in Season 3 during the league's formative years and captaining his first club in the Junkyard Dogs. After returning during the Bears bid in S18 Dingster eventually led the club to their first premiership in Season 22. Even after such an extended career he is still heavily involved in the leadership of clubs at the Swamprats and Wonders in recent seasons. Former teammates Ant Bear and Matera92 have prepared speeches to commend his induction.

Induction Speeches:

"I've never come across a better team-mate than Dingster. From the moment he PM'd me asking to join he Swamprats, his whole attitude was "How can I make this club better?" He threw himself into recruiting, and his energy, humour and wisdom permeated through the entire team. He became a mentor to many, not just within the team but also to the wider SFA community, and he is certainly responsible for educating and developing many people throughout the league.
It is amazing that a player who began in Season 3, way back in 2003, is still as active and invested in the league today as Ding. With all his other LG responsibilities, he never neglected his attention to match threads, and maintained a high standard of posting throughout his time, lifting when leadership was required. He never put personal glory ahead of team success, yet it was one of my proudest times in the league when he won the league accolades in S25. He finally achieved wider recognition when he selflessly helped out other teams, by recruiting players, and in many cases he allowed others to take credit for his hard work. He told me that he sent out over 120 recruitment PMs, to new players, during the S25-S26 off-season. That's a massive amount of work, and a lot of rejection to take, all for the betterment of the league.

Already a member of the exclusive Las Vegas Bears HoF, he has been a premiership captain, and has played over 300 SFA games. He has a Fred Medal, and is an All-SFA player. Above all that, however, he is one of the best people I have come across in the league, and his support and counsel was a crucial component in making us one of the tightest teams in the league.

The measure of an SFA player is how they are regarded internally by their team-mates, and Dingster is almost universally deified by his current and former contemporaries. He is a caring, compassionate man, who truly deserves this ascension into the SFA Hall Of Fame. Raise your glasses, and turn and smile for the camera - Dingster has eyes everywhere!"

- Sin City Swamprats Captain, Mobbenfuhrer Medallist Ant Bear

"I remember the night I stabbed DemonJim in the ba...I mean assumed captaincy of the Bears. Season 22 was looming and the leadership group had imploded. Sitting there, in my incredibly overpriced penthouse suite, sipping ridiculously expensive scotch that I had cut with a Pepsi just because I could, the thought stuck me. “I know nothing about running a qooty team.” Sure I could do the media, the advertisements, the sponsorship endorsements, after all, I’m one handsome bastard.

But recruitment? Team sheets? Sexual harassment? These were foreign concepts to a qooty diva such as myself. As I sat there, feet being rubbed by Morena Baccarin in one of her desperate attempts at courting me, I heard a soft knocking at my door. “Come in!” I answered, expecting my lobster that was to be delivered by a lobster trained as a waiter to crawl through the door and hand feed me my late evening snack.

Instead it was Dingster, the quiet, unassuming man who’d I shared three seasons with at the Bears. “Matera, I know this is out of the blue, but I’ve had a thought. As brilliant as you are, I can’t imagine you’d want to take on the responsibility of captaining this team by yourself. We’ve lost players left right and centre, The Filth Wizard has given us til Friday to get a list together otherwise we’re out of the SFA. If you’ll have me as your co-captain, I’ll make sure that not only will we have a list; it will be a SFA Premiership quality one.
Dingster, my good man, I could think I of no one I’d rather as my better half as we embark on this great journey together. I only have one condition however.” I beckoned Dingster close, wanting the gravitas of my words to really hit home.

Doctor Gero is never to win a LVB BnF.
And to this day, he never has.

That’s why Dingster is an All SFA Great, and worthy inductee into the SFA HoF. Sure, his stats are pretty good:
IuJ5DVg.png

And yeah, he’s a genuinely quality person, who also happened to co-captain the Las Vegas Bears first ever SFA Premiership, and has a nice and shiny Best and Fairest from the Bears to boot.
But at the end of the day, his ability to deny Gero that which he truly wants is what makes him such a wonderful person.
So here’s to Dingster, my co-conspirator, my co-captain, and definitely one of the good ones."

I'm absolutely delighted for Hate and Dingster. Hate's knowledge of statistics make your average statistician seem like a complete numpty - it clearly illustrates his almost unrivalled knowledge of the SFA. Meanwhile, as Ant Bear said in his tribute, Ding has been more than a team mate: I also count him as a true friend. Both of these gentlemen are truly worthy of this honour, and if I was a drinking man, I'd have one for each of them right now :).

Well done guys.

Now to elevate the fifth immortal of the Sweet FA - Broken. If you've seen any of his work over the journey it's a real no-brainer. In the Sweet FA it's not easy to garner universal respect and admiration, but Broken is a man who has through his sheer work ethic, creativity, and humour. He produces original content and often goes above and beyond to provide insight that only he is capable of. It's not easy to stand out within the Hall of Fame so to do so is a truly special feat. I'm sure I won't need to do too much convincing for most to know why Broken is the next one. Fitzroybowiedog and myself have provided some more words in tribute.

Induction Speeches:

"Broken is one of the main reasons I stayed in the Sweet FA. I know it's going to sound hyperbolic, or people are going to say that I am biased, but to me Broken is on my Sweet FA Mount Rushmore. He's the best thread poster I've ever seen and he does it all in such a unique way. He's sharp, witty, enigmatic, he knows when to bite and he knows when to step back. He's the best of us. When I first arrived, he was the poster I modelled myself one, he was the one I tried to emulate. Everything he does, he does for the benefit of the league. He makes this places better."

- Roys Premiership Captain, Mobbenfuhrer Medalist fitzroybowiedog

"When we think of the words Sweet FA Immortal they are associated only with the most influential figures in league history; Mobbenfuhrer, Fred, Boncer34, Ljp86 each demonstrating tremendous longevity, dedication and quality contributions to form a lasting legacy. It is rare for anyone to be considered worthy to join such company, but tonight we welcome a new addition in Broken.

First inducted into the Hall of Fame in S16, ten seasons on Broken is still making significant efforts to better the Sweet FA community and producing quality content that is rarely rivalled. Broken has a way of working with statistics and the sim output that few others do as recently evidenced by his rankings of every team in Sweet FA History. Yet, the brilliant thread is merely the tip of the iceberg in terms of Broken's work as witty, creative media and legwork in the archives and statistics sub-forum has been a consistent theme across his career. To this day since I've been in the league Broken's comprehensive season-long SweetRankings in Season 20 remains to best media threads I have seen. I commend you on your well deserved elevation to Immortality and hope that we will continue to witness your brilliant work and creativity for many seasons to come."

And that concludes this season's Hall of Fame. Once again I'd like to congratulate Hate, Dingster, and Broken. The efforts of those who go above and beyond for an extended period of time and really immerse themselves is what keeps the league on growing and running from season to season.

Massive thanks to Barrybran, kdavva74 and Hate on their assistance going into this and making my life as easy as possible. Also thank you to those who agreed to offer some words and really add to the presentation; The Filth Wizard, Ljp86, Ant Bear, Matera92, and fitzroybowiedog.

Had some great interactions already with Dingster and Hate and Broken are probably the two posters I aspire to emulate with their stats and historical work. Congrats to all of you on your inductions.

Hate Dingster Broken ?

Congratulations Hate and Dingster on your fantastic contributions to the competition. I have so much respect for both of you and have always enjoyed being able to play against the pair of you.

Broken, thanks a lot for ensuring I am the clear worst Hall of Fame inductee from Season 16. I was clinging desperately to the belief that I wasn’t. a-hole :(
