Up there with the biggest load of bias tosh ever to have been written on Bigfooty. 2 Wrongs dont make a right, and what Barca continue to do is embarrassing to world football. The fact u try to defend playing acting, intimidation of the ref and downright cheating insults every single football fan.

If I see my team get fouled consistently simply because they're better at playing the ball around and the ref lets the other team get away with the fouling (like in the copa final and Chelsea 1st leg 2 seasons ago), then yes, I find it fairly normal they answer to that cheating by cheating back, rather than accept the unfair situation and not take any action.

Of course that doesn't mean 2 wrongs make a right, but going by some here we're the only bad guys and it's like our players start a game with the intention of diving. Like I said before, this team clearly wants to play football and is good enough to play anyone. Because of that some find it's normal that opponents then play overly physical and borderline to what's allowed, while complaining about our antics. That's just being hypocrite.

Speaking of hypocrites, both Ramos and Marcelo "had Crouch sent off" in the previous round only, while this week they had players repeatedly going to ground to win them a free kick, when it seemed that was the only way they were going to get a shot at goal.

That's nice, Bobby :)

Things getting interesting...

All from our site:

"Upon learning of the unprecedented decision by F. C. Barcelona to lodge a formal complaint against Real Madrid C. F. coach Jose Mourinho with the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body, Real Madrid C. F. announces that it is obligated to follow suit concerning the repeated unsportsmanlike behavior of F. C. Barcelona, whose players consistently feigned aggressions with the sole purpose of misleading the referee of the match, which clearly led to the unfair decision to dismiss our player Pepe.

It is surprising that this chain of unsportsmanlike conduct and unfortunate decisiones finally culminates in the lodging of a complaint against our coach Jose Mourinho who, beyond opinions based on his right to freedom of speech, expressed his objection to victory at any price and the violation of the principles of loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship established in Art. 7 of the Preamble of the Statutes of UEFA and Art. 5 of its Disciplinary Regulations, by which Real Madrid C. F. expresses its full support of its coach."

Also

"Much has been said and written concerning Pepe’s send-off against Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal, but an image speaks louder than words and video from Realmadrid TV clearly shows the player only touched the ball. Thirty minutes remained in the match and the referee sent Pepe off with a direct red card following a lose ball dispute between Alves and Pepe. The rest of the play has been publically scrutinized far and wide. Alves, who obviously appears to be in pain, abandons the pitch on a stretcher. After consulting with one of his assistants, German referee Wolfgang Stark shows Pepe the red card one minute after the play took place. Once he saw the decision made by the referee, Alves made his way back onto the pitch in full stride.

It wasn’t the only controversial play of the match, however. Arbeloa and Pedro were involved in another incident. Thirty-nine minutes into the first half, the Madridista defender blocked Barcelona forward’s running lane. There was shoulder-to-shoulder contact, but no aggressive intent. Pedro fell to the turf and clutched his face, and the entire Barcelona bench stood up to continue protesting for the foul.

An ugly gesture that appears to have become a constant. Look no further than the images of the incident between Marcelo and Busquets five minute earlier; another lose ball and again, the Barcelona player ends up on the turf. It wasn’t Alves this time, but Busquets. The dive is just as obvious as Marcelo’s expression of surprise. Marcelo protects the ball with his body and Busquets goes over the Madridista defender's back and blatantly falls to the floor with his hands over his face. Another unsportsmanlike gesture and more fuel to the fire for the referee to deal with. It lasted for 90 minutes as millions around the world watched on the small screen."

The sports world cries out

Rio Ferdinand: "This diving is a joke/embarrassing. When Pedro watches that do you think he'll think, "What was I doing!?" Rugby players must laugh at football. If you ever see me go off on a stretcher then run back on to play, I give everyone on here the green light to him me with a two-footed tackle."

Michael Owen: "Alves' actions won't please many as if he had got straight up it would have been a yellow card, but Barça fans will be happy with his actions."

Rory Mcilroy: "Dani Alves, you are a disgrace. Roll about on the floor just a bit more!"

Chad Ochocinco: "I can't believe they just gave Pepe a red card for that."

Below has the video in it.

Very unusual for this all to be put on the site, especially the quotes from people outside the club. I'm not sure who is writing the middle section, their is no writer listed, however section is an official announcment.

Looks like Rio has given the green light for double footed tackles on Berbatov, Nani and any other habitual United diver. Feigning injuries is a common trait at United.

Really surprised to hear from Rio about sportsmanship, considering the track records of Ronaldo & Nani at United. If anything, i'd say that Barca were provoked by a Real team who where insistent on kicking the shit out of Barca and dragging out a 0-0 draw.

I have not seen Barca players act like that before although nobody can deny that the biggest bunch of sooks going around is Real Madrid.

I don't know what United fans think but I cannot see Mourinho replacing SAF when he retires if he keeps losing his head like that.

you barca fans can say whatever you like but you know, as much as you struggle to admit it that chelsea were cheated a few seasons back and that particular title is tainted.

I disagree on that one. Barca had a blatant pen not payed in the first leg against Henry, Abidal was sent off when Anelka tripped himself over. Some of the penalty shouts were ridiculous by Chelsea, especially the ones where Yaya Toure made a great tackle and Drogs rolled around squealing for a penalty. Ditto at the end where Ballack drove a ball into a Barca defender (who was looking away from the ball) from a distance of about 2 yards and expected a pen. There was one blatant pen not given in that game in the second half, Drog's one was a 50/50.

Chelsea cheated themselves out of that one, I was amazed when Barca were wrongfully reduced to 10 men that they decided to just defend en masse and hold out for a victory. Should have been hitting Barca on the counter and going for the winner.

If the referee got everything right Chelsea would have won the 2nd leg 2-1 and Barca would have won the first leg 1-0.

are you kidding me?

toure's was blatant.
there was one in the second half that was blatant on drogba, last man back as well. there were two like that then, I think.
the ballack one? the dude had his arm miles out, in an unnatural position, it was handball. the player having his arm in an unnatural, unnecessary position impeded the path of the ball.

there were four blatant penalties in that game, and one/two sending's off not given.

and you can tell you're trolling? chelsea cheated out of the game? what did they do? they kept attacking, hence the penalty chances and barca didn't create anything until a dodgy clearance. it was a very one sided game and on another day would've been 3 or 4-0, such was the dominance Chelsea enjoyed. and chelsea were, all game long hitting barca on the counter, looking for a second which they earnt on more than a few occasions, also missing easy chances as well.

abidal not sent off? big deal. there should've been two before that, better players.

it was a disgrace and most people acknowledge as much and their fans do know and have admitted they were very lucky in that instance and didn't deserve to go through.
the referee should've been immeadiately called before a uefa committee to investigate match fixing.
instead they pick on fact tellers like mourinho.

Dude seriously the Ballack one was literally from 2 yards away, the defender was looking away from the ball. There's no way any referee can award that as a penalty. Yaya Toure made a clean tackle, Drogba should have been booked for a dive. There was a blatant handball that Barca got away with in that match ( think it was from a Malouda shot). There was a shirt tug on Drogba in the first half that I felt he went down too easily for because his first touch wasn't great. Those ones are 50/50 decisions.

Barca got the rub of the green in the second leg but I think too many people forget that they were ripped off in the first leg at the Noucamp.

Chelsea were their own worst enemy, they had the game in their hands and resorted to negative defensive tactics at 1-0 up with a one man advantage.

I don't think over the 2 legs that they could have any complaints over the reffing.

Mate, you're making me like Manchester United.

Mate, you're making me like Manchester United.

Don't say that dirty word :)

I feel that you guys probably deserve a Champions League winners medal, for some reason it is always just out of your grasp.

As for Barca I have seen no evidence of consistent favoritism by referees. I mean, who would the Barca equivalent of Howard Webb for United be?
I think if any Chelsea fan is honest with themselves and looks at the 2 leg tie as a whole they can't complain about being knocked out.

Besides, I do remember that JT got away with a push for the winning goal in a 2004/2005 knockout round against Barca didn't he :)

"The shinbone's connected to the knee bone ... the knee bone's connected to the leg bone ... the leg bone's connected to the hip bone ... and all the way up the body. Unless, it seems, you're Pedro Rodríguez or Sergio Busquets, in which case it appears that everything's connected to your face bone. These two went down holding their faces, rolling around in agony, no matter where -- or if -- they actually had been hit in Wednesday's Champions League semifinal. As for Dani Alves, he disappeared on a stretcher, seeking out a priest to read him the last rites; two minutes later he was back on and racing around like a hyperactive child. Like nothing had happened. Which perhaps it hadn't."

Thats is superb Sid Lowe

Nothing would please me more than doing Barca in if we get to the final and play them. They play great football but ffs why can't people just play football!

agreed mate :thumbsu:

would love to somehow see a madrid victory in the 2nd leg, but failing that ill be cheering on united in the final

you guys obviously haven't read my other posts in this thread. great team are barca, that's cant be denied. however (continual) whining, cheating, crowding the refs etc etc is what loses my respect

and from the sounds of it here, lots of others too

multiple victories have delivered numerous trophies, however there is always room in the trophy cabinet for some humility

it is pleasing to see though that the great messi doesn't need to stoop to the level of some of his teammates, he seems to let his football (and continual goals) do the talking

If there's one thing I admire about any diving and faking injury on our behalf ... it's that we always pick the perfect target: an absolute **** who 100% deserves it. Del Horno, what a maggot, Thiago Motta (see Chelsea game [stamford bridge] last year, the tie before the barca encounter. Nailed Drogba and got Diddy sent off) and Pepe, needs no introduction.

All have a history of escaping penalty. **** em all.
