Today one of us needs to stay home with a sick youngest child.

As always in a situation like this, there is a discussion over who stays and who goes to the game. Only this time, we're both "baggsing" the "stay at home" option - whereas anytime in the past we would have been arguing over which one drew the short straw and was the unfortunate one that had to stay home.

I'm peed off that my enthusiasm has been dulled so much that I don't even want to go today. :(

Sounds like your family are a pack of bandwagoners.

Looks like you won the fight hey IP?

The woman always does.

Maternal instincts kicked right in... an 8 year old who has been coughing her lungs up all night needs her Mum.

But now i wish i was going... I really feel like I'm missing out - like the weekend is somehow incomplete...

That feeling when you're getting dressed in your purple, packing the scarves and flags in the car... heading to the train... the atmosphere building at each stop with more people getting on... then the feeling of walking into the ground, going to your seat and getting set for the game... aaaahhhh I love it. :thumbsu:

Even when we are crap. :(

Yep. My weekend is never complete without that gut wrenching pain I experience every Sunday night. Nor the heavy weight, feeling of impending doom, I have for the rest of the week...

Making me homesick.

In 13 months I will be home again after 4 years in the ME ...I am also paying a visit in July so should get 2 games in then.

I watch games on our network but it aint the same as going to the game.

I hope anyone whinging about 'Why should I bother' or 'They shouldn't get paid' aren't in Perth right now. Otherwise why weren't you at the game?

There is only a few reason i actually watch this team still play football now and they are the only reasons i will continue for the rest of the season, the results i could care less about now.

These reasons are:
1. Rhys Palmer, Garrick Ibbotson and Aaron Sandilands development is heartening.
2. Matthew Pavlich is a superstar.

I'm running out of reasons after these two.

I'm ____ing fed up with close losses. Why the ____ do we continue to play like heartless hacks in the 4th quarter of games. It's happened 3 weeks in a row and I'm ____ing fed up. Dead set, do these players actually care about the supporters. I feel the pain of all Freo supporters in Western Australia right now and over here in Melbourne I'm disgusted.

If I could have walked a KM to the ground, I would have been playing my own game instead. :thumbsu:

Any not on a Sunday from here on, I go to.

I am all out of curse words....... I have just blown up today.. Its worse being Sooooooooooooooo close to the top teams and coming up short.....

We are better ...but I guess it doesn't matter who's better , it only matters who WINS...... ____ ____ ____

I wasn't going to bother to post on this thread, but after today I've got a massive vent .... stop losing by such small margins FFS, its killing me!!!

It buggers up the the psychology of the team as well as throwing more sand on an already buried winning culture. On top of that, we're going to finish near the bottom at this rate and our percentage is going to bump us down the pecking order for draft picks simply because near enough wasn't good enough - its all lose lose situation.

PS - I'm not suggesting I want big losses over small ones, it's just a 'vent' after all.

Stephen Dodd. If playing an utter useless game on Robert Murphy wasnt enough, you just had to give away that crucial bloody kick.

The thing that I hate about this season is how quick people have been to turn on their own club. Mark Harvey and the rest of the coaching staff know exactly what they're doing and they know a hell of a lot more about every player, their role in the team, their capabilities and their fitness than you or I. For BigFooty posters to come on to this site and continually bag them out for what they perceive to be mistakes is just ludicrous, compared to the coaching staff we have NFI what's going on. If Mark Harvey thinks that Shaun McManus will be able to contribute more to the team than Clayton Hinkley, he's probably right. If you want to come on here and threaten to hand back your membership because Matthew Carr got picked, put your money where your mouth is and hand the bastard back because we sure as hell won't miss any of you boxheadgreg types.

Sounds like our board (melbourne)

pretty spot on post

strange as it may seem i still think you can make the 8

losing to the bulldogs didnt help but you look at your list and compare it to the other 3 new coaches and yours is much better

what i see is too many individuals worried about their own position within the team at the expense of the team result

Once Harvey fixes that problem then we will see what your capable of

The Carlton game is must win otherwise all you can hope for is the top 5-6 sides to keep winning and everyone else keeps dropping games to lower the ammount of points it will need to get there

if your close at the seasons end your percentage is worth 4 points for a start (86% 1/8 isnt bad)

Except maybe the richmond loss you really have been in a winning position
in all of your games

NICE POST BBP^^^^^^^^^
I'm sick of the stupid negative threads/posts about individual players, drafts(It's only rd8 FFS)coaches etc... and Hypocrites who say they should do this and that and when they do,they whinge or another eg. Mundy doesn't do this and that yet the next week he is okay but he hasn't done anything different from the week before except get more of the ball.

Watching the Freo Dockers play and loose reminds me of my childhood back in the USA. I was a big Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. When I was a kid I can not remember too many seasons that were winning seasons yet I never abandoned my team. Eventually they got their act together. They starting recruiting from the local "farm teams" (Minor League Teams). They have been a damn good team ever since. I can only hope the same will happen for the Dockers.
