Had to google the guy to understand who you’re talking about. When you’re job is ‘blogger and commentator’ it’s hard to take you seriously. Like Gough said, seems like just a clever self-promoter.

This is kind of my original point. He's a guy plenty have never heard of who hasn't really achieved anything, yet him speaking apparently warrants petitions and protests and a massive police presence. Bizarre.

Lol.

Gee whiz I thought I erred on the side of conservative in my crowd but if you guys can't see that he wouldn't need to do that I must have stumbled in to the social circle of antifa or something like that.

I don't? But if people really reckon he has to pay people to turn up and get worked up protesting him then they're out of touch.

I like that Milo is around to upset things. I definitely don't agree with the things that he says. I guess I just like that he's made a comfy career from being a troll, because I laugh seeing people get outraged over obvious attempts to get a reaction, and he's made a splash in Australia despite being shunned by everyone except some One Nation loony.

Passed a random hitchhiker on the side of the roundabout before the freeway this morning.

I understand hitchhiking but legit never seen one before ever in my local area.

Has anyone picked up any before or done it?
Never see them on the Great Eastern Highway anymore but I used to love slow right down as if I was gonna pick them up but then accelerate off.

Mate did it only a few months back after a big night.

Was outer suburbs way

I was astonished when I first went to Africa and hitching was a perfectly normal way of getting round. It was a lot of fun too.

A work colleague hitched her way around Africa and Europe during the 70's and she spoke of some quite scary moments when she said they thought their time was going to be up. It was just the done thing at the time but it was quite scary wondering who was going to pick you up

I was hitching up to Nyanga in the eastern highlands of Zim which is at the top of a long windy road. The blokes that picked me up handed me a Castle and told me to jump into the back of their ute. For the next couple of hours I watched as they downed beer after beer as they drove this narrow twisty road, I was convinced for a while that I was going to end up a crushed body at the bottom of a long drop. When we got to Nyanga they stopped outside the local police station so that one of their number could hand themselves in.

hitchhiked in Bosnia all the time, was fairly standard. couldn't imagine doing it in perth, where a stranger saying hello to you is met with great suspicion.

although I did see a hitchhiker here not too long ago on canning hwy, she was young and attractive and holding a sign saying 'fremantle' which was a fair ways off where I was going, but no doubt she got picked up (and murdered)

I hitchhiked in the day - would kill my girls myself if they did it now.

Me too, when I was backpacking around Europe many moons ago, my parents would have had kittens had they known. Wouldn't do it now or pick one up either.
