That’s a shame, I always thought Vancouver would be a great city to visit.

Toronto is more like Melbourne. Traffic here sucks but Vancouver is much chiller than those two.

When I was over in the UK went too a few aches tests stayed in a hotel that had buffet breakfasts.
So good.

Can remember one year it hadn’t snowed in the run up to Xmas, maybe even that whole year and then just near on Xmas or within a few days opened the curtains and it was white outside.

I've only ever been in the NH June-november. Never experienced a true winter like that

2.25 times I've spent Christmas is the US - once in San Francisco where it was a rather wet day, where I went out walking around for the day and I bought a laptop satchel from this random bag/luggage shop that was open. 13 years later and that satchel has gone me with on every subsequent trip

First time was in Ottawa, staying in a hostel with a real white Christmas. The hostel owner was away for to spend Christmas with his family, but he'd left money with the long termers "staff" to cater a lunch/dinner which was roast turkey, potatoes etc, plus dessert options. They also had gifts for everyone staying at the hostel and I've still got my beanie bear - such a memorable experience

The other partial one was spending 38 hours & 4 flights traveling between Melbourne & Anchorage, arriving in the evening and ordering wonton soup from somewhere that was open

Re snow.

Did Cradle Mt mountain in the snow last October.

Walked the horse track it was knee deep in snow in some places.
Wanted to see Barn bluff .

A splash of sherry in it is the trick to a great Bloody Mary.
