Was heading home last night and saw 4 cars that had all rear ended each other. Idiots....

Doesn't surprise me.
I'm convinced there are more and more bad drivers on the roads these days.

It's because the govt keep pushing the wrong message. They're getting harder and harder on the 'don't go 1 km/h over, don't do this, don't do that' stance instead of promoting the 'drive safely' message.

I'm certain they'd achieve better outcomes by being less pedantic about things like 'doing the exact fixed speed limit at all times in all conditions' and putting more emphasis on things that are actually dangerous like sitting inside the driver in front's colon.

My local oval that had previously been used as a cricket / aussie rules footy ground has been turned into a soccer field . I guess the writing has been on the wall for a while, they stopped using it as a football ground for "senior" matches last year. But Auskick and junior football still got played there (and still is... well until this week). Years ago they would remove the goal posts at the end of football season and install a pitch in the middle, about 4 years ago they learned to keep the goal posts up during cricket season. Funnily enough 2 years ago they left both the pitch and the goal posts installed all year round.

I thought they were preparing to play baseball on the oval when i noticed they had new painted lines in a diamond shape (mixed in with the Aussie Rules painted lines from weeks prior). Now it looks more rectangular AND the soccer goals have been plonked only a few meters away from the goal square of the aussie rules goal posts .

What i would have done is install them going the other direction so that the goal posts of both sports can co-exist (i have seen this on grounds that are used for multiple sports like soccer, aussie rules and field hockey). I foresee a lot of missed shots at goal now because of the new soccer goals.

Another sports ground nearby has something similar in that the football goalposts are a mix of Aussie Rules, Rugby and Gaelic football all in one set. It's bizarre.

TL;DR - New soccer goals have been installed which interfeare with the Aussie Rules goal posts.

As far as I know, local soccer teams have been wanting/needing greater access to these grounds due to increasing numbers but footy clubs have been unwilling for the most part to relent

Not like the news HASN'T been on a 6pm since Moses was a boy :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Have no respect for people that tail-gate learner drivers. Scum of the earth.

Everyone has to start somewhere.
Every tailgater has to start somewhere too.

Moths, gigantic, annoying, god damn moths, especially when they're trapped in your bedroom at night and it sounds like a small helicopter is stuck behind your blinds...

Scum of the earth. Also go into full 5yo girl mode when one unexpectedly swoops out of me from the garage.

I wave because it's a courtesy but I get what you're saying.

Like, when I'm on the bus, I don't see the point in thanking the driver, unless he actually did something for me like wait for me to run to the bus and get on, or stop off somewhere for me, that wasn't an official stop.

Otherwise, why the hell would I thank you for doing your job?
Thanks for doing one of the worst jobs in the country so I can get from A to B. I like to thank the bus driver when exiting

I tend to thank a lot of people for doing their job - bus/cab drivers, waiters, bar staff, retail staff, postal workers, gardeners etc. It's not a difficult thing to do. They are people, not robots.

What really shits me is the speed limit in the Melbourne CBD being 40km/h. It's so ridiculous and unnecessary. So 60 used to be legal, now 60 is a big fine. The ****ing idiots couldn't drop it to 50 in the name of safety or whatever (revenue raising), they had to make it 40. And there are some (Greens, councillors) that want to make it 30 km/h! And I wouldn't be surprised if that happens within 2 years.

I have shit to do, places to go. Driving at 38-40 km/h is a ****ing joke. In a school zone in the morning and afternoon, no problem, in the city, go and get ****ed!

Seeing people who plan to do ignore damaging anothers car.. Just saw someone reverse into another car while getting dinner, they got out, looked at the other car, went to keep going until the rather swole gentleman seemed to notice me watching him to see if he left a note... No actions taken but him standing there looking at me with arms crossed, after 5 minutes and recording his rego decided **** it I'm not getting based for someone elses car.

Guessing I should probably call the restaurant? Not that it will do much good if the person doesn't notice...

I hate how they don't give a **** if they bump into you either. Grosses me out.

There's a Carlton joke in there somewhere...
