Proper sick too .
Fully sick .

I don't know what's going to become of all our books :sadv1:

I totally understand what you mean

I've got my "library" of books that I've acquired over my lifetime and it's very hard to cull anything from them, including 20yr old travel books from the likes of Lonely Planets where I've updated to newer (each) edition - have to admit I enjoy looking at the older ones and how things change

The harder thing though is going through my mum's library which includes books my dad collected over his life, plus mums own collection which includes books she got from her mum & grandmother, so a small number from the 1800s (maybe earlier) but I'm not sure what condition they're necessarily in

While I'm sure I could find someone interested in parts of the collection - like my dad has a number of military themed books be it novels, non-fiction, reference etc, where I'm going to struggle & it already does my head in it the number of encyclopaedia sets they owned between the two of them. I'm talking about sets going back to the 1950s which may have some historical interest to someone, but the 1990s Encyclopaedia Britannica plus a decade worth of annuals is something i don't know what to do with

I don't want to simply bin things but I also don't want to be "burdened" by keeping this extensive collection going forever

Gough will take any cricket books

I understand your dilemma - we had so many sets of encyclopedias etc

I may have to start looking for museums/collectors who are looking for this stuff for when my mum passes

Maybe try checking ebay and all the new market set ups for worth - or alternatively local history places for some of the stuff

I am hoping I can pass on some generational stuff to someone somewhere so it doesnt end up as landfill

I raised the bat for my hundredth Wisden the other week which was nice and ignoring this year's which I haven't got yet I only need sixty one for a complete run but the prices for them make my ears bleed.

I cannot begin to imagine how many thousands of dollars of books I’ve given away over the years

It’s obviously ptsd of some sort or maybe even a MH condition but I don’t have an attachment to anything - I could sell my house tomorrow and not have an ounce of care about the memories made here - I’ll just make new memories

Need to urinate. But too cold to get out of bed.
I imagine, (figuratively speaking) a brief feeling of warmth ensued after your post.
However, by now things may have changed somewhat.
