Things That Shit Me the Eighteenth

What’s done is done 🤷‍♀️ I had a hissing hole in my tyre and had to get it done then and there.

Bob just won’t get a repeat visit from moi.

Did they give you the option to repair it? A hole in the tread area up to 6 mm can usually be repaired. Holes in the sidewall can't.

You might want to shop around when the rest of the tyres need replacing. Tyre manufacturers heavily discount their tyres to car makers hoping owners will buy the same again. My car came with Michelins which had amazing grip but only lasted about 25,000 km and are very pricey. I always buy Maxxis now. For example, these would fit your wheels.

It was in the wall and it was a huge ass nail. I had a couple of fellas at work have a look at it for me before I took it across the road.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, hopefully I won't have any more punctures and can shop around next time.

FINAL UPDATE in the tyre saga

Turns out I can claim it on my novated lease yewwww

Got a delivery today from Amazon, I always get them sent to mums as someone is usually home.

Just saw the photo for proof of delivery, left at the bottom of the stairs in the rain instead of going to the door undercover…

Also obviously never got close to the door to actually ring the doorbell…

I think we've got a new Amazon delivery driver recently

Last month I ordered a folding jigsaw puzzle board - so it's like a metre x metre box and they left it on outer side of the front door which is visible from the street, and though I live in a court we do get randoms driving around. So I was happy to be home to bring it in pretty quickly

I then had 2 deliveries last week with the recent sales, the first one was two boxes & the second only a single box, but the driver put them undercover behind the rubbish bins where they couldn't be seen from the street. Much happier with the new person

My yellow bin going missing, I put it out yesterday for the rubbish collection today, went to collect it this evening and it was gone.

I don't know if one my neighbours took it by mistake or someone stole it but it shits me as I use it more than my smaller red bin.

If it doesn't show up I guess I will have to call the council to get another one, either that or I could just steal someone else's bin.

.
They are tagged. Council can find it.

After my incident where my package was delivered (and kept) to my neighbours house. I get most (expensive) items from Amazon sent straight to my local post office parcel collect. Some drivers are good, others not so good, I recall one other Amazon experience where the driver literally left the item at the start of my drive way. Luckily I was watching at the time, otherwise anyone walking past would have got themselves a nice laptop accessory.

I didn't realise that you could have Amazon parcels delivered to AusPost parcel collect - that may be something I look into. We've recently got the parcel lockers installed at our local post office, so wonder if that would be an option

Does it slow down delivery to have it delivered to the post office versus a home address?

I checked that out - closest one to me is going to be a 25/30 minute drive away which makes it slightly less convenient

It's crazy that there's only 1 locker location in Geelong and it's not exactly in a convenient location. Hopefully they realise it would be a good idea to get a second location on the other side of town to the current one

My local one is great, it has a loading zone to park in about 5 metres away from it.

I've been doing parcel collect for 3ish years (maybe even 4 by now lol) with most things from amazon to various ebay deliveries everything from dvds/blurays etc to larger items like lego.

Not really, I've been lucky that they haven't attempted delivery on a weekend - haven't found out what happens IF that situation arose - which it could considering Amazon can deliver 7 days of the week.... but I generally time my orders to when I'll be able to swing by the post office to pick it up.

Unsure about "same day" deliveries, I have had it sent straight to my home address in the situations where I've been able to order it in the morning and have it delivered by 8pm.

I have had the Amazon driver deliver packages before the post office itself opens. I assume there was a pre-determined process where it gets left where the post office boxes are - as that's what has happened to me. But it then gets picked up by someone (I'm assuming an Aus Post worker ?) and delivered to the post office at some point during the day. My chosen local post office and where their PO boxes are - are two separate locations about a 5 minute walk from each other (basically the PO boxes were where the post office itself used to operate, before the post office shifted a bit further down the road).

Most websites allow delivery, I've also had a few JB Hifi items get sent there...I think it's down to how the site allows you to enter the chosen delivery address. Some are too "automatic" - eg: I couldn't get Footlocker to work as they had their automatic address, which meant it had to be residential rather than a business address.

My closest Amazon locker is a newsagent I'm 5 minutes away from.

Don't entirely trust them - they strike me as like the mom and pop store in Seinfeld (can up and disappear at any minute lol). That said when Amazon sent me a bluray disc as opposed to a 4K disc (and it wasn't even the same movie I ordered). I processed the return at that newsagent and it was successful.

The bins in my area aren't tagged but I have called my local council and they should deliver a replacement bin in the next 10 days

I'm in control of the smart devices in my home (and the homes of everyone else in my family). Everything works perfectly as long as everything works perfectly. The other 95% of the time is troubleshooting.

Just today the app I use to control my aircon is EOL, with nothing to replace it. Thankfully this is a device that retains some physical controls so I'm not completely out of luck.

I’m clinging to the belief I’m smarter than my smart devices.🙂

Obviously I don't want to be specific on this but I have a very dumb workmate who has been doing some dodgy stuff at work. However being a boomer he's left a delicious digital trail, now currently weighing up if I go straight to management or try and sort it out with him first.

Note I'd love this guy gone anyway so don't mind the first option.

My manager was talking about some fancy pen he was trying buy, but can't find it anywhere.
I asked if he had checked pen island dot com.

He wasn't very happy after that

Luckily I was suspicious and googled that on my personal phone, consider me rick rolled (or the penis version)
