Growing up our letterbox was a long way from our front door, so every few years kids would shove a bunch of bungers into it and blow it up.

Eventually dad got so jack of it that he did the engineer thing and constructed a bomb-proof letterbox - reinforced roof and walls plus a wire mesh floor to disperse the blast. It worked, survived another ten years despite two more attempted bombings.

When we moved out the new owners replaced it with something more aesthetically pleasing and within a year it had been blown up again.

We lost a few letter boxes back in the day when you could get a fist full of penny bangers from the local milk bar for a few coins in your pocket

im good with numbers. i know my medicare, credit cards, private health, tax file, bank accounts and bsbs, home loan numbers, etc.

but, mobile phone numbers, no idea. i always have to double check even my gf's number when i need to write it down. funny how technology has made me lose ability to remember numbers i never see or have to write down like mobiles, but other ones like i list above i do remember.
i might remove names from my contact list in my phone so i have to start seeing numbers and work out who it is.

I'm average I guess.

Did have a weird situation years ago where I forgot my 4 digit atm though and the machine took it! It was just a weird thing where my brain never 'liked' it as a number and found it hard to stick in my mind, I even 100% knew what my previous 2 defunct ones were for that card was as well.

ive done it a couple of times, forgotten my PIN. Take the card out, go for a walk for a minute or two and it pops back into my head and i go and get my cash out.

yeah ill have to do it. Just tried again as i thought i might know my old number, but then it asked for bank account.....it wouldnt be the same bank account as it was when my medicare was set up.

I did something similar. Went to subway, ordered everything I wanted, got to the register and completely forgot my pin. This was before PayPass. Had to go without lunch 😂

of course they would be - they used the phone and their rates. Maybe unknowingly but they still did, it would all be in the contract no one reads.
Nobody reads T’s and C’s and everybody knows that - it shouldn’t (and sometimes doesn’t) give businesses the right to steal from their customers with obviously BS bills like those
