My nephew went through a stage of eating apples like onions. I never did that but I did go through a phase of loving sandwiches with cheese and chunks of onion.I put an onion in my sons lunchbox today for comedy reasons, he showed the whole class and now the kids and teacher think I’m a dickhead it seems

From reading the left/right handed discussion from a few pages ago, made me think of the process of serving in tennis - Im right handed .....if I think of throwing the ball up during the serving process, my normally "weak" left hand becomes my strong hand, and I then imagine throwing the ball up with my right hand, and it becomes quite awkward in my mind.
I've done a few sparring sessions with a mate for shits and gigs. The first session I used non dominant left hand to jab in the standard orthodox stance and it felt so awkward. Next couple of sessions I switched to southpaw and it seemed much more natural to me.I missed the convo but I wonder in boxing if your lead hand should be your strong hand? I mean the jab is the most important punch, would make sense to have that as your "good" hand
Shoulda just kicked him in the junk got it over early and gone to the pub.I've done a few sparring sessions with a mate for shits and gigs. I'm often too lazy to make a salad with dinner. So I'll sit there with my plate of meat or whatever, surrounded by a bag of spinach/avocado and spoon/punnet of tomatoes. Make the salad in my mouth.
Yeah.Lucky.Have always thought this was a little psychotic.
Sometimes when a word is said on tv or a word/sentence is thought of, With my mouth closed, I'll tap my teeth together to spell the words. But as if I'm texting it on an old mobile phone. So big footy would be (in teeth tapping) b(2xtap) I(3xtap) g(1xtap) spacebar(tap) f(3xtap) O(3xtap) O(3xtap) t(1xtap) y(3xtap)
The tapping/grinding is spaced out like the phone pad, not in the same spot with the same tooth.
Luckily I don't do it as much anymore
Yes I'm crazy.

Makes sense to me. I'm no master technician either, but it would seem to me that if it was that easy to switch stances, it would defeat the purpose (because there'd be no point switching stances if everyone could box just as well orthodox or southpaw). Like, if you're never going to be a professional, probably best to get as good at the basics as you can.I’ve done boxing for about 8 years now and never done opposite, the two gyms I’ve been to don’t encourage it, in fact probably wouldn’t teach it at all. As a result southpaw feels ridiculous to me, I’m no Terence Crawford to be fair!

I'm reading Keith Richards' autobiography at the moment: I didn't really know much about him besides the 'how in the world is he still alive?' reverence, but he seems like a pretty interesting and thoughtful guy really. And his advice about learning guitar is to become proficient on an acoustic before you even pick up an electric: "Just because you can make it go 'wee', that doesn't make you Hendrix."

The jab is the most important but it’s also the least taxing
rear hand strikes are slower and more biomechanically complex, so usually easier to execute with your dominant hand
Pretty rare that youre ending a fight with a jab too. Its a tool far keeping and reading range, hence it doesnt need to be "powerful" good jab will snap the other guys head back but its not knocking someone out.

I'll knock each and every one of you out with my jab.![]()
