I sleep with one hand down my pyjama pants next to my Johnson. Have done since day dot. Heaps my hand warm, and if I need to roll over I can pull things out the way so they don't get squashed/strained. Its already in close proximity to 'lend a hand'.

I turn my hand occasionally to writing short stories and these can be useful for an instant charcter or two, but I don't think I'm very good at it and I often lack the confidence to let others read what I write, so I dare say none.
