I think the problem occurs when you disagree with someone's opinion and you try to change their mind.

When I first started posting I felt I had to push my point of view and convince others that what I was thinking is what everyone should be thinking. I just don't care any longer, I don't really care what others think, especially from certain posters who have masked ignorance in the guise of loyalty.

I'll just give my opinion and if asked to explain will say why but I can't be arsed debating with people. You need a pretty good environment to debate, the right type of people to have a healthy debate with, sadly this forum isn't one of those places.

However, reading others opinions is still worthwhile, you can share and see what others are thinking, you need the certain personality types to be able to debate things without people getting personal or shitty.

What amuses/amazes me is ppl take this sort of stuff serious, go to a game and listen to the tripe being spouted against your team, come on here and it is mild in comparison, go have a look at the bozos who post on facebook for a reality check.
For the record a good poster doesn't equal an apologist of the coach, bad coaching/playing needs to be critiqued.

Linguistically, it's called "dialogue", involving the intention to build common understanding (vs 'agreement' and also vs trying to convince someone of the 'rightness' of your position, which is generally what debating, like arguing, is.

It is hard to enjoy a 16 point win when you are 10 goals up and it is quite evident players have taken the foot off the gas and showed the backbone of a jelly fish when under the pump despite what happened the last few weeks.

However, there were positives to take out of the game. It is not all doom and gloom. We do still have some major issues to address.

At this point in time we have fallen behind Richmond in terms of development and we were a long way ahead last year. We have too many players who do too little at any given time and the bulk of the work is left to too few.

A win is nice but I don't give a shit about 2012, I want to know we are are building towards something and we have stalled on so many fronts it is very disappointing.

I am still interested in what people think and it gives me no end in terms of humorous reading at times, although some people being serious detracts from that a bit, or maybe makes it funnier...

I don't stress about comments too much, I am used to far more insulting forums, I'd just prefer if 'this' forum didn't go down that path because we share a common love and common goal, we shouldn't really be at ends with eachother which it tends to get here.

This forum has, however, lead to me questioning my sanity at times, wondering if I see something blatantly obvious that others seem to be oblivious about. Reality seems to catch up though and I find that I am still legally sane.

I've only just started posting on this board. Whilst this is only my third ever post, I do believe the previous two were incredibly articulate, insightful and profound.

And so it's with enormous disappointment that I see I have not been listed as one of the exceptional football posters.

And if it be true that the exceptional posters have had people take pot shots at them ... then I'm pretty pissed that no-one thought my dual posts were exceptional enough to take a pot shot at.

Sadly, it has come to this - PLEASE, if it be true that exceptional contributors have copped abuse on here, would someone care enough to abuse me.

Tell me I don't know anything about football. Tell me I haven't a clue. Accuse me of being a fair-weathered supporter. Something! ANYTHING ... just to feel valued.
