I see this weeks game against Richmond as a "Must Win". This will put us at 2 and 2 moving into games against Adelaide and Geelong. We have a tendency to drop one or two against ordinary opposition but it can't be this week. Adelaide is winnable, Geelong will be tough. This week is one of those that must not sneek away from us.

It may be a must win[isn't every game???] but we musn't undervalue or underestimate Richmond.
II understand your point - we have to win the home games - it's as simple as that. We already droped one to Hawthorn. This is technically our second home match of the season.
Lets not forget Richmond did fairly well here last time they played and jumped out to a large lead.
So.. who are Richmonds danger players we have to take out of the match??

We should be looking at a 40+ point margin. Sure first and foremost we need the 4 points, but we are coming off no travel, an 8 day rest, our full squad, youngsters stepping up.
From what I have watched Richmond look very average, unorganised and fairly one dimensional. You can pretty much let Jake King run free coz he coughs it up more than anyone in the AFL. Pettifer is out injured, Kane Johnson will be one to watch coming back from his antics.
Polak and Symmonds are in no great form. Richardson will get McPharlin. The out of form Tambling will get the in form Hayden.

You can say that there are no easy games in the AFL and all that, but if we want to play finals we need to be able to have a decent win here, it is that simple in my mind.

Every game is a must win for us.We should belt Richmond,I don't rate them and tip them to once again finish in the bottom three.
Their side does not ever seem to change and they don't appear to have a game plan.Me thinks THE WALLET is treading on broken glass.
Pettifer is suspended,Polak may be in doubt after his knock on the weekend,Tambling(out of form!!!!!)he has never been in form,a very much over rated player.
We have not travelled now for three weeks so we should win and win comfortably.
Lets hope that our players don't go out with that attitude though.

As far as MUST-WIN's go, it doesn't get any bigger than this.

Richmond at home.

If we are going to be a contender this year we have to beat them and do it comfortably.

That said, I hope the boys are more awake than they were in last years corresponding fixture - and remember CC banging on in the week leading up to that game that Richmond were our grand final?

In reality we should smash them like Collingwood and grab the %.

Hopefully the boys wont be complacent and will get the job done.

Just ventured into the Richmond board to see how they are travelling and WOW - those blokes are down on themselves.

Apparently Wallace didn't turn up to training on Tuesday and a few players seemed to not be taking training seriously.

Can't help but feel for them, but, hope we win by 100.

I don't feel sorry for them.
They have to fix there own problems like we did. No one gave a shit about us back in 2000/01.
They should just eat a few bags of cement and harden the ____ up.

But they've been shit since 1980, Nightfury. :D

A small Richmond story. I had a good friend whom I worked with for two years; he was a Tigers fan. We were both miserable usually, as both teams were poor (this was 2004-5). Anyway, he was killed in a car crash two weeks before the start of the 2006 season. Possibly suicide. Anyway, in round 1 2006 the Tigers got belted by over 100 points by (I think) Western Bulldogs. My first thought was 'Geez, he didn't need to live to see this.'

Since then, Richmond are my second team. That doesn't stop me from being disgusted at how gutless they are, however. They were awful last year, awful in the first half against Collingwood, and I expect they'll roll over and die against us on Sunday. Those squibs Polak and Simmonds need to be taught a lesson. So basically I'm with you, Nightfury. Let them harden the f*ck up.

Unleash the mayhem. :D

We must improve again on last week. The first two weeks were ordinary in terms of delivery and turnovers, last week was better but still not great. If we can improve a bit more we will win this game comfortably and it will give the guys confidence when we face Adelaide the following week.

damn right we must win. Father in law is a Richmond supporter and I'm due there for dinner on Sunday. If we lose then i'm in for a painful night of smugness and freo bashing.
