Uncontested possessions/possessions, marks:
- Bock 23/25, 16 marks
- Armstrong 22/25, 13 marks
- Rutten 21/24, 16 marks
- Schmidt 16/21, 13 marks
- Jaensch 13/20, 10 marks
definitely too much kicking back and forth in defence...achieving nothing of gain.

That is ridiculous. Seriously ludicrous.

Davis: Pushed off the ball too easily and too often caught watching his man and not the ball. Always does some clever work and did some more tonight. Lots of uncontested possessions in the first term but went missing thereafter.
Players like DAVIS are the reason we switch all the time in defence and never play on quickly. The guy does not know how to run forward with the ball . Otten use to generate run this guy makes us play to the sides and backwards. All he does is sits in corners and gets cheap kicks .

We lost tonight because of effort, application and intensity.

For three quarters, most of our side didn't care and didn't try hard enough.

They have all the GPS data and other crap; for mine, lack of intensity and effort is a cardinal sin - you can forgive players for taking on the game or busting their arses and making mistakes, but you can't forgive players who refuse to put in.

We had a few players tonight who were well and truly non-competitive for three quarters tonight - I'd be dropping a couple of them before I dropped guys like Petrenko or Reilly (at least he had a ****ing go).

If more than a few of our players had actually desperately wanted to win tonight, we would've.

And I'm going to start a thread on it tommorow, but our leadership group is a joke, absolutely pathetic.

the one not payed to Tex and then paid against Dougie = 1 goal
the one against Armstrong = 1 goal
the 50 not paid to Dougie in the last quarter = 1 goal (probably)
they were **** weak tonight

Guys - some bad decisions. That happens all the time.

We are SHIT. We are a shadow of our former selves. Lets focus on the bigger issues here... :)

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say its more instruction than his desire.

:thumbsu: Spot on!!!

Thommo for Captain , one player that leads by example, hard at it, in and under, tough, never shirks it, and plays with PASSION!!!!!

you cant compare Davis with Otten. Davis is a skinny KKP, Otten is a midfielder who was used as 3rd tall last year. Naturally the midfielder will know how to attack better

don't worry, we bag and blame our own players just as much as we do the umpires for their inconsistency and always pinning us for HTB.

Only positives were Walker and Petrenko, make Pets captain, at least he always gives an effort. However Craig's comments in his press conference weren't overly positive about Tex, said that he only played well when the team did, in the last quarter. Gee, maybe the goals hadn't come but I thought he looked highly threatening even when the team was garbage. Armstrong and Jaensch also showed some signs.

Finally got around to listening to the presser. I think a touch negative on Craigy's comments re: Walker. I certainly heard it slightly different. Craigy was definitely in agreement he played his best footy in the last quarter whtn the team did and was in fact 'refreshing' for the team. But he did lump the team performance for the first 3 quarters into the unacceptable bucket - can't blame him too much for that.

Saw most the game, but not all. We ended up with reasonable stats, but they are all distorted because of the last quarter. Does anyone have the I50s at 3 qtr time?

- tonight was the worst effort and spirit for the year. So it was shit all round and hard to get a gauge on anything else
- We have no leadership, the most spirit came from Petrenko and Walker, make them ****ing captain instead of that robot down back.

That is all

way too much boo hooing on this board. All the pet hates have surfaced as usual. I'm bored and leaving you all with this thought.....in time, most if not all our players will be available, then they might string a few games playing together again, then they will win games again, and then there will be a lot of disappointed posters because they wont have any reason to boo hoo about it. And they all lived happily ever after. The end.

Nnormally I would agree with you - but not tonight.

That first 3 quarters of football by the Crows was humiliating and embarrassing, and not worthy of any representative side, whether it be all of our best 22 or 16 of the, Whatever.

If we get beaten and I think we've had an honest crack whatever the margin, then so be it. I couldn't stomach what I saw in the first 3 quarters tonight though.

That was Richmondesque at its very worst. :(

I also wasnt impressed with what was said about Walker by Craig, FFS I wish Neil would wake up when it comes to Walker, seriously I have never seen such negative and inept development of a player that I have seen with Walker, Burton was solid when playing rubbish yet Tex as a 20 year old played better than Burton has all year and Craigy cant even really say anything positive about it

Not going to do a comprehensive review until I've seen the replay but IMO that was the worst performance in the history of the Adelaide Football Club.

North Melbourne are an extremely average football team with only 1.5 good players (Harvey and Wells). And we made them look like a triple premiership winning Harlem Globetrotters equivalent.

Every single player should hang their head in shame.

NC has every right to be furious. We should make the MAXIMUM number of changes possible this week. So basically every fit player who was out of the 22 should come in next week, regardless of what they did at SANFL level.

I didn't hear the post match press conference but this comment just shows how poorly NC understands the role of a forward.

There has never in the history of the game been a forward who excelled when the rest of the team struggled.

The forward line player is the end point. They put the finishing touches on the work of others. They are not the initiators. They are vital of course, but their role is to close the deal.

"Only played well when the team did..." that's like saying that the slips fieldsmen only took catches when the bowlers found the edge of the bat.

Oh yeah, can all the Thompson-critics please post here now and explain how well we did without his (apparently) constant clangers that stuff us up all the time?

C'mon. You know who you are. Now you've seen us without Thompson. So you have concrete evidence to back up your criticisms.

Looking forward to seeing all the hands go up.

Ready... Set... Go

Ladies and gents, I saw a whole heap of positives tonight. Petrenko I thought was outstanding, schmidt good and armstrong should be proud. Walker could well have changed the game. He basically did a Burton but has 11 or so years on him. Rutten should get confidence, bock closer to the dominant player he used to be. But wow, I've never seen so many passages of shit play. Tay Reilly kick is the prime example. I prpose that now our season is nearly mathematically impossible, drop the also rans Stevens, doughty, Reilly, etc. I loved the last quarter. But what that taught me is that there isn't a Whole heap between the tigers and roos.

Recomend go listening to the presser yourself. It wasn't quite as bad as Drummond painted it IMO. Craigy was just very focussed on the fact that as a team we were SHIT for the first 3 quarters. Not trying to put tex down just gutted and not wanting there to be any positives detracting from how woeful the team was for 3 quarters.

Personally I'm fond of the assumption that

A - Craig is the one responsible for much of the failing gameplan that bears a striking resemblance to the one Viney had Hawthorn playing, who are coincidentally still failing with it, and

do you really think the buck stops at the middle?

Switching Play
Tonight it reached comical proportions. How many times did we switch the ball 4 or 5 times, from HBF->FB->HBF and back again, before eventually finding a way out of prison (or turning the ball over)? This is our oldest trick and EVERYONE knows we do it - and they make their plans accordingly. Right now, we're just playing into their hands every time we do it. It gives them an eternity to setup their defences and the ball almost never gets anywhere near our forward 50 as a result. Move the ball on quickly, play on, play directly down the guts - refer to the final quarter if you want to see what happens when the ball movement is half-way decent.

absolutely agree 100%.

I also don't like the impact on the development of armstrong, Jaensch et al that this tactic could have.

I want them learning to take the game on, not learning how to become a joel bowden dreamteam type god.

Davis has been so overated on these forums for the last few weeks its not funny. I go to all games and watch him carefully. He is always hiding in the back pocket and getting cheap uncontested posessions from the ball going sideways. He plays the third tall very poorly. Otten would get the ball around the fifty ark and penetrate though the midfield. Davis gives us no drive. I can't believe we used a pick ten for him. Is already slow for this league and will not get quicker with age.

not only do you post exactly the same things as CroCop, you repeat them word for word, copying and pasying in different threads just like he does.

maybe have the guts to post your crap under the same account, instead of trying to pretend you have found another idiot from an adjacent village to agree with you. :thumbsu:
