Time for Presti?

Simple question,

IS IT TIME FOR PRESTIGIACOMO TO RETURN.

Over the next 2 weeks, we play teams who have "monsters" in their forward line, and I just don't believe Nathan Brown, Maxwell or Reid are capable of defending those types of players.

Reid was the standout of our tall defenders last night, both in defense and attack. Maxwell I simply won't criticize even after a performance like that, and Brown was "ok", while still being beaten at crucial times.

Presti should have played last night IMO, but that's another story.

He has to play next week, doesn't he?

Yes. I'm all for playing the youth and getting them experience, but it's time to cut the crap and play our best, and Presti is our best defender by a mile.

No.

We will beat them comfortably with Brown and Reid. Presti is not needed this week. In fact Brown and Reid kept Mooney and J-Pod to 4 goals total... if that happens again vs. Brisbane we will win by 10+ goals.

Only when he is fully fit, we can not afford to have him playing injured at the business end of the season, he is too important to our structure. If he needs the time out, then that's fine. We should be good enough to beat the Lions next week without him.

i would like to c this happen, bring in prest at fullback, n brown to chb and rei as a flanker and use shaw through the middle. drop obree and mccaffer bring in medhurst. when dick is fit he is a must. freeing up reid will give him more confidence and having shaw as another rotation in midfield is a plus. a bit left field but worth a punt. i can c reid being used like clement, just my thoughts. feel free to discuss

It's ok to say he has been poor, say it with me now: he has been poor....

Reid was killing it last night until he was subbed off halfway through the 3rd and that is when Geelong got on a roll and Mooney was on Maxwell. Reid came back on to Mooney but Geelongs tails were up and so was Mooney's confidence.

Brown was average at best and really didn't contest hard enough on a few occasions, should be told in no uncertain terms to hit the contest hard.

Ah he is over 30 so he's clearly rubbish or so say the vocal ones, you know he doesn't even provide rebound?!??

Of course it's time fir him to be back, how I would have killed to have him sitting on mooney last night, so bloody oath it's time

like I said last week the teamshould continually be picked on for this year, **** age, **** the conspiracy thereoies, just form.

Wood plays poor Fraser in, presti is clearly in, Lockyer would provide so much more then Davis, when jmac/rounds are fit obs goes out. This play the kids just cause won't work if they don't have form

Hell yeah! I thought he may have played against Freo but maybe we didn't want to take him to Perth. Should play next week on either of the Lions forwards. B Hall may not be playing the week after so structually he may not be needed against the Dogs.

Its been an utter joke why Presti hasnt been in the team. I want Nathan Brown to be the next Presti but at the moment he is nowhere near it. A few times against the Cats he didnt apply enough pressure at crucial times - Mark Blake standing at the 50m mark weighing up his options late in the game was one of them. He is too slow and needs to drop a few more KG's to get his speed back.

Prestigiacomo has been a victim of his own success. Miles ahead of Brown but the need to give Brown opportunities at senior level have worked against him and the team last Saturday night.

How many opposition forwards have named Presti as the hardest defender they have played against? No coincidence that.

I dont think CHB or FB are our problem at the moment. The success story of our year so far imo (apart from Wellers early form) has been Brown/Reid holding down KPD. We need to hold our nerve.

I'm a huge Presti fan and sleep easier knowing he is there as a back up, it wont suprise me if he gets back in at some point but for now the boys are defending well enough while improving our rebound immensely so (wait for the sacrilege) they are a net gain on Presti. Presti stays out for now on form imo.

On a side note i'm liking Keefe as a key back in the VFL & by reports Carter played well in last game also, early signs looking good that we have turned our KPD depth from a worry to a strength, early days but good signs.

Huh? Did you see Cameron Mooneys stats from the weekend? 15 kicks, 3 handballs, 10 marks for 3 goals 2 behinds. In a low scoring game he was damaging. I hate bagging Brown cos he is our future but you cant hide from the facts. As for rebound Brown had 1 kick, 8 handballs and 2 marks, yep alot of rebound there - NOT.
