I reckon pick 1 is overs for Fyfe alone. Why would Fremantle trade him anyway? Doesn't make sense.

Have to pick my favourite opposition player Fyfe (hopefully he can clean up his kicking).

Firstly, pick 1 for Fyfe is overs. Look at the compo/trade deals that were done for Ablett and Judd who did not fetch pick 1. Fyfe is not in this league and thus I agree pick 1 is overs.

Secondly, have a look through the last 10+ years and quality key forwards are either very early draft choices or father sons. Therefore, the opportunity to acquire a quality key forward is a rare one unless you either have an early draft choice or quality father son prospect.

Lastly, based on the above, if I were Freo I would take pick 1 and run. Fyfe was selected at pick 20. As good as he is, it shows you can find these types of players scattered through the draft. Key forwards and quality ones at that are just too rare. Coupled with the fact that Fyfe isn't worth pick 1 and with his kicking still very dodgy, Freo should accept this deal. Their game style shows they don't need to rely on a Nat Fyfe, it's all about structure not personnel and a key forward of this ilk is just too good an opportunity to pass.

Your talking about one of the best young midfielders in the comp who will win Freo's F+B, Was 12th in the Brownlow, Was incredibly unlucky to be AA at 22 compared with a guy who has not played AFL before?

Im sorry, Your crazy if you don't take the sure thing, Fyfe was freo's second best player in a Final and not only is a gun midfielder but is that Rare utility type player who will not only "Do" in another position but is pretty freaking good as a forward marking target.

Fyfe was dominating up forward with his contested marking untill freo had to pull the trigger and send him in the middle.

I would not trade pick 1+2 for Fyfe, Fyfe will be a freo Champion when he retires, Draft picks are still that, Unproven kids.

Fyfe? Who would anyone even vote for Boyd when hasn't proven he can play at AFL level?

Hard call, a very VERY promising 22 year old, versus an unproven kid. I know he will almost certainly go pick 1, but we've all seen that being pick 1 doesn't always guarantee success, a la Watts. I think Fremantle have a good thing there, wouldn't be letting him go.

Fyfe.

Pick 1 carries development time, as well as risk, especially if used on a KPF.

Fyfe is already one of the AFL's best players. Not only that but he is still only 22 and already seems captain material.

His only query is field kicking, which is either very good or considerably average. Given his age, attitude and ability to often get it very right, I would back him to work hard and iron out the kinks. Good chance he will win a Brownlow, or be the AFL's best mid one day. Pick 1 is unders and I would happily trade it for Fyfe.

No 1 plus Cameron maybe, but even then would probably be a mistake. Cos Fyfe is a WA boy and Vics usually want to go back home anyway.
