Fair enough - I was more thinking Tom Lynch - who i rate as the third best key forward in the game

Given the choice tomorrow out of Lynch, Boyd, Cameron, Hogan et al - I'd take Lynch

Lynch, Cameron and Hogan will all be star permanent key position forwards (if they are not already). That is obvious.

They do not, however, play the same position as TBoyd who is currently a part time ruck, part time forward. It's not really a like for like comparison at the moment.

The other day we had that Sweet Jesus clown telling us he was overpaid and an unjustified pick up because of lack of goals. It's just ridiculous because TBoyd would have spent less than 50% game time in the forward line this year. You can't compare his goal tally to someone like a Kennedy or Franklin.

At that close range we won't last long against Stringer and Dickson!
We'll last longer than we will against that Tom Boyd!

Our cruisers can't repel whining of that magnitude

Let's not forget the last time people got overconfident of Melbourne's future in comparison to Collingwood.

Comments from Dees supporters like "we own you collingwood and will for a decade" from May 2010 are all-time great BigFooty comedy.

Not just BigFooty Dees supporters.

GARRY Lyon could not resist the symbolism of Collingwood's woes last night as he heralded the rebirth of his struggling club.

Lyon addressed 170 supporters at a "150 Foundation Heroes" dinner, telling them that they were involved in the most important night in the Melbourne Football Club's history.

"The symbolism of today shouldn't be lost on anyone," Lyon said.

"I think you will enjoy the fact that whilst tonight is the rebirth of this great footy club, our greatest rival is in disarray.

"The Collingwood footy club is going down the plughole as the Melbourne footy club re-establishes itself as a power."

Hope this thread keeps getting bumped as evidence of my genius.

Would have needed it done since he first did his shoulder, several weeks ago now. Definitely gets overlooked, so proud of the big fella
Very brave. That sort of bravery is what will win you a premiership. Incredible bravery.

Hogan's ceiling is higher than any other young KPF in the competition though. I hope we get to see it.

Hogan is comfortably one of the better big forwards already.

But no matter how good he gets, if he can't extend his range (forget the body language stuff, it is meaningless) past 45m its going to severely limit him.

With his marking ability and tank, if he could genuinely kick set shot goals from 55m out he would be completely unstoppable.

Fair to say Boyd won me over in the past few weeks.

On the contrary, I feel like Hogan might be closer to his ceiling than people realise.

Not to say that he won't get any better, but I don't necessarily feel like his final ceiling is infinitely higher just because he started off at a higher level than his peers.

I'm saying his performance in the GF doesn't automatically justify his exorbitant contract.

It's not that complicated.

You're post is neither complicated, cogent, or substantive. Trivial and pedantic bilge

He was high in the norm smith panel votes and high in the coaches votes - with one coach giving him best on ground

At just 21 and having performed to THAT level, there'd be no shortage of clubs happy to take him and his contract

A much better question is why are you so cut up about it? What are you trying to prove. Other than qualifying for your low footy IQ scouts badge

Give it a rest

Where does Hogans improvement come from? Surely he has hit his ceiling already. Id take Joe Daniher over him in a heartbeat. Isnt Hogan only like 195 or something?
Hogan - consistency.
Daniher is a gun but his kicking is woeful. History suggests that few KPFs significantly improve their kicking over their careers. The only players I can think of who made major improvements to their kicking are mids (Watson & Clay Smith). As an example, Casboult has been trying for years.

Looking forward to your bottom 50. When does that start ?

Riewoldt improved to the level of 'reliable set shot' I would say
