The thing I'd be most annoyed about if I was a dogs fan, is that had you not gone after Boyd you would've likely got pick 7 from GWS after Carlton gave it to him (another ridiculously stupid trade) in the trade for Griffen, possibly something else as well, adding to already having pick 6, you could've got Wright and Marchbank or Lever giving you a very good forward and backline for the future, that would make me lose sleep.

Having said that I am unaware if Boyd had Injury issues in those years also. I still think Tom will be a gun and many other AFL teams obviously do too as the dogs weren't the only club who wanted him.

The only issue is the big money. Kid has plenty of time to come good.

Look at the history of KPs. Not many come in and rack up big numbers from game one. I'm pretty sure even a champ like Jonathan brown's stats were underwhelming in his first three years and he was added to an already powerful team.

Only time will tell. Could be the premier forward in the league in 3 years. Who knows.

The truth is, the guy cost you equal to two high first round picks, when you could have ended up with Peter Wright as well as a Caleb Marchbank or Jake Lever.

That's fine, in fact the club has already had quite a lot of criticism of Carlisle. Carlisle is on about 60% of what Boyd is though so I'm not sure his career will be under quite as much scrutiny as Boyd's.

The media are payed to make judgement on the game, they wouldn't be doing their job if they weren't reporting on Boyd's career. As for Big Footy, well that's football mate, if you don't like it, I suggest you stick to your own board.

Boyd is clearly not worth the money he is getting in 2016. Neither is Sam Reid, Tom Mitchell, Travis Cloke, Daisy Thomas, Nick Dal Santo and numerous others. Of all this list of overpaid footballers relative to their on-field output, only one of them is 20yo and has obvious scope for significant improvement. If this improvement doesn't come by the time he is 23yo (or at the very least trending in the right direction), I'll be the first to admit it has been a bust.

He is also two years younger than Boyd.
