So now it's beveridges fault? The list is growing.
Why did you use fault? Strange use of term given what I wrote? It's his gameplan, it's not a fault is it? At the moment, the gameplan dictates Boyd plays 50% in the ruck. Whether this is best for him is neither here nor there, it's just what it is. You always this grumpy or just save it for this thread?

I'm always grumpy.
Boyd was traded as a key forward. Bulldogs supporters will tell you he's not performing well there because he's being played in the ruck, due to Beveridges 50% game plan for there as you just put it.

Boyd is clearly not worth the money he is getting in 2016. Neither is Sam Reid, Tom Mitchell, Travis Cloke, Daisy Thomas, Nick Dal Santo and numerous others. Of all this list of overpaid footballers relative to their on-field output, only one of them is 20yo and has obvious scope for significant improvement. If this improvement doesn't come by the time he is 23yo (or at the very least trending in the right direction), I'll be the first to admit it has been a bust.

Shit man we all have to wait 3 years, we were all kinda hoping we could shoot down his career in 3 weeks.

Because it's a thread on the main board you idiot.
Would you rather everyone leave so you and the boys can circle jerk each other until Boyd becomes good?
Why are you on a forum about football bitching about people talking about football topics? If you don't like it, go away.

Stop it, Joop. You're scaring me.

You like to toss the insults around, Joop.

Keyboard Warrior? Brave boy.

Melting like a champion.

Criticise the Boyd deal all you like.

Andrew Lovett will back you all the way.

With the jungle drums still beating about Western moving on Tom Boyd, what do you think they would expect from a trade

Personally, I'd give up a pick around 25-35, if they pay half of his contract, maybe a high teen if they pay 3/4 .

Problem is by trading him they would still have to pay half his salary. The money might be better spent by keeping Boyd but paying more former players and coaches to publicly suggest he takes a pay cut?

Or paying other clubs' Chairmans to comment on whether he's under pressure or not.

Is this the bay? In all seriousness is anyone sick of going to the main board to read a thread and everything turning into a shit fight?

There is never any serious discussion, its always about finding any angle to bag a certain team: be it St Kilda and North supporters against the dogs and vise versa, Hawthorn against geelong etc.. I understand there is room for a bit of banter but surely there comes a time where we can discuss a topic without having to stoop to bay 13 levels.

Come on guys he's a 20 year old KPF, surprise surprise, he is is still developing. Lets wrap this thread up before he drops something in the street and this thread bumps another 50 pages on what a litterbug he is.

Plenty resting on the kids shoulders tonight.
Will be a very interesting side plot in tonight's game without Redpath
If tonight goes like the last 7 years in matches against the Cats, we will be blindly kicking it long to Lonergan, Taylor and Enright to feast on all night.

Yep - after holding onto the ball too long to ensure Geelong's defenders get a chance to run back and structure up.

“He is not being told to take a pay cut,” Gordon said.

“Thankfully Tom doesn’t read that sort of thing and we don’t either. Truthfully, I think people should just leave it (his pay packet) alone.

“We did a deal with Tom that we were pleased to do and proud to do, and, we were able to fit it into our salary cap because we hadn’t paid up to our full salary cap for years and year and years.

The AFL introduced a banking mechanism system which meant that that, provided we could raise the cash, we actually had an advantage that the Collingwoods and Carltons didn’t have, because we had that bankable ability there.

“So we set about working hard to raise the cash to provide an opportunity.

“It’s provided an opportunity to get Tom and it’s also provided an opportunity to re-sign most of the other young stars of the competition that everyone is very excited about.”
Love the 105 rule
