Good on him for taking the money.
Just irresponsible by the bulldogs offering so much. His brian won't be fully developed until his 21.
We will see another wasted talent

Do you think 7mil for 7 years was their opening offer or do you think he asked for it? They might be stupid to offer that, but he asked, he accepted, and now he can deal with the responsibility. No sooking, just go and be a star or get crucified.

Thank god we didn't pay the $$$$$$$$ for him, no doubt will be a gun but giving a kid so much cash is asking for trouble.

Bombay, Kalina, India

Barrett can go **** himself, he throws us under the bus at every opportunity & this is another he will take. It journos just like him which is why we keep a low profile, it's public knowledge Bev wants to rip him apart. Bottom feeder

He is honestly one of the absolute worst "journos" going around at the moment. He is the epitome of everything that is wrong with football journalism.

I don't think I have ever heard him report about the actual game. Just the next big scandal.

The guy is a disgrace and refuse to watch him on any of the shows he has somehow weaselled his way onto.

Oh mah gad! What is Tom Boyd doing in the impact zone?!

FaceBook reporting Tom hurt Zaine with a WWE move while drinking and the players tried to cover it up.

Sounds like good fodder for BigFooty photoshoppers if you ask me.

Does Boyd enter the ring to the tune of Shane McMahons theme song, "here comes the money"?

Boyd > Carlisle in 2016.
But more importantly, we're better than you and you're obsessed with us.

Feels good
Both Boyd & Carlisle are non-events this year, but at least the saints aren't paying $1m for no output & saving cap space.

Boyd could become a clever journeyman forward and still finish his career with a hefty pay cheque. He was traded in 2014 and is in second year of his 7 year/7 million contract as a 20 year old. Let's say he completes his 7 year contract, at that point can put himself up for another trade. A 27 year old KPF on his prime could easily command $1 million+ again for another 5 years. Boyd would start and finish his career as a millionaire footballer which even some of the elite footballers don't get to do.

Can throw Michael Scanlan in with Barrett's ilk after tonight's report on 7. Sounds like the guy might have a future writing fantasy novels.
Eh, could've been worse.

He didn't go at a stranger with a crutch in a family restaurant, so there's that.

Ooh, here we go, Dogs fans already on the attack.

You dont have a real good record with your young blokes named Tom do you? At least Boyd wasn't in a gutter though.

I for one am glad to see himself get in a bit of off field trouble. Might be the bad edge I've been waiting to see from him, letting people know he's not a "football's everything" loser like a Trent Cotchin type.
And what are your credentials to be calling Trent Cotchin a loser?

Which again really puts it into perspective. There have been comments from WB supporters to the effect of 'he will come good'. He is being paid a million dollars a year for **** sake, he better do a lot better than come good. He is being paid the same as Buddy, which itself is of semi questionable value. When he starts performing like Buddy, people will stop bagging him. If he thinks that is an unrealistic standard to be held to, them maybe don't ask for the second biggest contract in AFL history.
