Lol at the guy raging against Tomic. If you don't like him, don't play as him. The only reason he's in there is he has some sort of endorsement deal with Nike, 2K sports prob rang them and asked who they could get rights for and they said Nike thought it would probably be a good opportunity for exposure in Australia for both the game and their athelete.

In sporting terms he doesn't deserve to be in a bulls roar of the players on that list...yet.
Well if he can knock off Nadal tomorrow I'd accept his inclusion in the game.

Virtua Tennis 4 is also coming out soon, dont know if I'll get both or just one

I'm liking the roster of VT4 it looks like Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Murray, Roddick, Monfils, Del Porto and Gonzalez are in the game.
Virtua Tennis is alright but it's more arcadey than Top Spin. Looks pretty good though. Slightly smaller roster but doesn't really bother me. Will have to give it a look later.

Right now, it'll be Top Spin 4 since both VT4 and TS4 will have move support.

Wouldn't be past getting both, but I just hope the AI is considerably improved from VT2009 which had terrible, terrible AI.

Agreed about the AI

Such a let down after VT3

Watching Tomic vs Nadal and I really don't see what warrants his inclusion in the game. He's being totally outclassed.

What pre order bonus' are coming with these games? That might decide whether I get ts4 or vt

Totally outclassed? What a shock, world number one beats 17 year old

In any case, 2 points: totally outclassed is being beaten 6-0, not having the world number 1 0-4 down in a set; and secondly, it's commercial realities - they want an Aussie in in a significant market, so suck it up

I said that after the first set when Nadal won 6-2, I was actually surprised Tomic gave Nadal a scare in that second set. He put up a good fight against the world number 1 and I take what i said back.

Looks good but player choice is so limited in these games (due to individually owned rights)
Would be cool with the PSMOVE but unlikely to find a home in my collection as it comes out around the same time as AFL PS3.

I'm liking the look of VT4 instead of this tbh. But I'll wait until there's more gameplay vids + reviews before I decide what to get. I'm desperate for a tennis game.

I'll be interested to see how this one plays, i only did the bare minimum of "learning" in order to be competitive in TS 3 (which wasn't very much at all, just learned the basic timing, was not very good at the advanced shots). However i was very good at power serves, so that helped me out a bit against the cpu and online.

I was far better overall at TS 2, towards the end of the lifespan of the game (when TS 3 came out), i finally learned to time my power shots with that shot timing bar - correctly. Whereas previously i had to rely on those special shots when the standard meter filled up. It was quite an achievement, building up the created player. Top Spin 2 was also the first Xbox 360 game that i got the full 1000/1000 achievement points for (took me close to 5 months to do).

I didn't enjoy Virtua Tennis 3 or VT 2009, instead of being fun to play (like VT 2 was all those years ago at the arcade + ps2 version). It was more like a chore, a NOT VERY enjoyable chore. Would hope that Virtua Tennis 4 is a substantial improvement in that regard.

Interesting to see how this game interacts with the Move on PS3.

Up to now most Move compatible games have been terrible to play with the Move controller, but I'm hoping that changes with this and the new Tiger Woods Masters game.

I just think Tennis games are more fun if you are actually involved in it more, so hopefully the Move works well with this.

Never been a Virtua Tennis fan, always played TS, so I won't be changing now, although if Grand Slam Tennis (EA's game) ever gets on the PS3, I may give it a go.

An alright demo.

Wondering if the game is maybe a little easy, I did lose my first match (after not even looking at the controls on the load screen and literally learning everything on the fly) 7-5 but I easily won the 2nd match 7-2. Both were on 'Hard' difficulty. So already there seems like there could be the issue of the game just being too easy. I really don't get why tennis games can't put an insanely hard mode in there game, it's been an issue for a while now that it just gets very easy, very fast. The AI seems to play for the win every shot, which isn't really true to life, and therefore generally easily countered.

The controls have had a nice overhaul, the reliance on quite deep timing is nice, you get a wide range of shots played and even one's that come off the rim of the racket.

The movement is quite heavy, you get a lot of that over compensation movement and it feels REALLY hard to get back into a point when it happens.

Net play is still nearly impossible, as always...

Hopefully there's a good deep tutorial as I'm not overly sure on the timing yet and what it all means.

Tomic looks pretty hilarious in the profile picture, has to be seen this one.:D

Graphically there's some nice things going on. Fed looks like Fed and Nadal, Nadal. Although Ivanovic isn't the stunner in this game that she is in real life, she's ok but there's something off. Courts look like Courts (I KNOW RIGHT?!). The specific animations are quite well done, Fed has his usual straight and narrow stuff while Nadal has some of the real loopy shots and such.

Oh and yes, they do have the ladies grunts in there. Serena's is VERY well replicated.

So yeah, the demo is nice, but my biggest fear is how easy the game could be.

BTW I couldn't test out the Move with it (which you can indeed do) because I didn't have the Nav controller which is a requirement.
