The Port stance is laughable, once you put a players name out there you do not dictate the terms. Like I said earlier we learnt the hard way with Stringer.

I’m stoked Kings gone to be honest - our midfield is literally 50% better than the next best in the comp and whilst we win the midfield battle a lot that’s just down to talent. Im hoping a new midfield coach can get the boys working as a team. Obviously a ruckman is a big part of this too, surely Bev has realised he’s wrong now. He was ahead of the game in 2016, he was right. Ruckman weren’t important, so long as they could cover ground and have an impact around the ground your 3rd man up would make up for their lack of ability.

unfortunately that was short lived and right now ruckman are probably more important that they’ve ever been. The competition is so even every edge is super important yet we’re conceding first use, we’re conceding the ability to back ourselves in attacking positions. We’re starting off the back foot before the balls even in play ffs. If Bev hasn’t figured this out by now Then I dunno what to do.

Backlines fine, obviously an upgrade on Gardner would be great but it’s not a necessity. I’d love a good third tall the more I think about it. We have to phase Wood out. Schache to defence over preseason.

Forward line is extremely promising, Jamarra should play from round one alongside Naughty & Timmy.

people acting like how do we beat Melbourne next year, get a grip. They didn’t even make finals the year before they’re not some super force that can’t be stopped. Imagine what they thought at the end of 2020?

our forward line in particular has huge upside. Probably more upside than any team in the comp. Our number one key forward is a 21 year old whose rate of improvement exceeds that of any player in the comp. our 2nd KPF is a generational talent. Weightman is in the top 2 young small forwards in the league. Garcia & VDM are awesome grunt. English was the best 3rd forward utility in the comp for a couple of months and will get back there.

We have 3mids in Baz, Adzy and Bont who could realistically average 5 goals between them a game.

we have weapons everywhere, and now every been burnt. other teams should be terrified at the prospect of coming up against us next year

Alos, the fire will be burning in everyone due to the humiliating fadeout. I would get Schache to be trained all preseason as a back man to help Keith and be there next monster back. Woody I think is cooked. we need another ruck, as well as putting some serious grunt work on Sweetie.The future looks bright.

I've seen his name mentioned a couple of times here, but I'm surprised there isn't more talk about Darcy Cameron.

Out of contract this year, obviously playing second fiddle to Grundy. But he's looked very handy and capable when he's gone into the ruck. He's centre bounce work in particular has been quite good at times. I can recall some games where Grundy was benched in important moments and Cameron was preferred (last years elimination final v NicNat)

Is 26, 205cm. Kicked 22 goals from 18 games this year. Can take a clunk when forward.

If he wants a number 1 ruck spot let's give it to him. Will work really well with Timmy as both are very capable forward.

If we were a young side rebuilding I would be all for Max Lynch. But given our list profile Cameron makes much more sense.

As would Lin Jong. So those two along with likely delistings of Will Hayes and Ben Cavarra mean we can easily trade someone in and draft 3 without too much of a list squeeze.

Obviously we will lose Lipinski and possibly Wallis as well, so we have a bit of flexibility with list spots.

Hayes and Cavarra are rookies, so they don’t count.

Lloyd, Jong, Lipinski…it gets harder from here, Wallis makes 4.
as a previously delisted free agent, could Martin be delisted and re-signed as a rookie?

My understanding was that Anthony Scott was signed to that list spot already.

So we can't really count that as an extra list spot.
 
The Lipinski thing s**** me. Yeah, he wants an opportunity, but if you grow up a Dogs fanatic and you see an ace midfield in front of you, wouldn't you want to back yourself to break into it and have a shot at winning a flag with your club? He's goes to the Pies and every chance they miss the eight the next few years.

Scott is a rookie. Was added after the draft.

We can. Scott's a rookie, Lloyd was a main list spot. Means that if we delist Hayes and Cavarra from the rookie list, we'll take 1 rookie list spot.

I anticipate we'll give Stef Martin that rookie list spot too and that's Lloyd, Jong, Martin all off the main list as a start.

Nah can't blame the guy looking for more opportunities. Will change my mind if it's a PSD burn situation tho!
