there are going to be some many threads over the next few weeks... Yes im not a mod but can we try and make this one the one we discuss all topics regarding trades and draft pick selections...

Well because it looks like there will be alot of threads on this topic, I might start my own one in the next few days/weeks. A good idea I reckon.:thumbsu:

Brent Prismal has just done his knee. He's out of contract but might be out of action for some/most/all of next season. Where does that leave his prospects?

Feel very sorry for the bloke, he just made the 22.

Doing an injury like that will lower your trade value, but i still think he is worth a punt. An ACL isn't an automatic career ending jury, especially when you are as young as him.

I doubt the Cats will let him go. I'd offer our 3rd round pick for him though.

Why do we want Prismall?

I reckon Prismall's injury will keep him at the Cats.

It actually removes the motivation for him to leave, being he wants to play regular football but can't get a place in the side. Now he can't play football for 9-12 months :(.

By the time he's knocking on the door of the 22 again, someone else will make way for him.

Costa and Cook have both said after the game that they will retain Prismall. Nice to see a club standing by the kid after such a tough run.

He was certainly worth a look as he is a talent but if he's not in a position to play until the end of 2009/start of 2010 i'm not sure he's what we're after. Of course once he is back there may be a spot for him at Geelong or the problem may remain. Hopefully the kid finds a starting gig somewhere. I'm sure the Gold Coast will go looking for him.

I wonder why we are taking so long to announce our de-listings... I would have thought they were pretty straight forward

Ackland
Saddington
Blackwell
Benjamin
Jackson
possibly S & A O'hAilpin

Every year there is a trade done that no one on BF has even mentioned, last year Hadley, year before Saddington, it will happen again this year and we will all say oh yeah what a good pick up, even if 12 months later were saying lets get rid of them. Who will it be this year, name someone out of left field?

Prismall's situation reminds me of the circumstances surrounding our recruitment of the old Special Fried.

With that in mind, i say go hard to get the kid on board.

The first 4...yes. Jackson shows something so i'd keep him. Setanta's been sent by the club to Germany to fix his club. Given the club has stated they want him right for next year, he'll be staying. His brother might be a different matter though.

Jackson's position has been filled by Grigg, who can do run with rolls, find the footy and kick goals, Anderson is also ahead of Jackson in his specific roll as well.

Does anyone know when we will find out who will be delisted or will Judd announce it tomorrow night at the B & F (ala Johnson) :p

Top captain that Johnson i tell ya

I wouldnt be surprised either Alpha, but i just think that becasue both W.A teams have 1st crack at him, they wont let him go.

If he does slip down to #6 do you think we should grab him? Would be a hard decision for the recruiters. Although like you I doubt the WA teams would let him slip, and the Melbourne might just take him straight away?

We would definitely grab him. We would have taken him number 1 last year if he was eligable, Wayne Hughes seem to be a big fan of his.

Im gonna get belted from pillar to post for this, but i would have to say no. I just think that we
1. already have our future ruck stocks sorted out (Hampson & Kreuzer)
2. his ability to ready the play and disposal of the ball is somewhat of a 4th to 5th rounder.
3. massive risk factor...

We need someone who we know has football ability 1st and can fill a void that we need 2nd. Not someone with extreme athletic ability only.

Yes he is an excitment machine, and WH suggested last year that if he was available he would have taken him infront of KROOOZE, but i just believe that we are in no position of taking a punt on someone, especially with the quality in this draft.

My opinion only

I sort of agree with you on this. Everyone saying he is a gun athlete first and a footballer second. Few reports around too that he has unbelievable vision etc, but he does not have the ability to read the play like Krooz. If he is available at #6 I wouldn't mind him, but if there is a FB or CHB who is the best at that position then I would'nt pick up Nick.

And what, 3 - 4 more years before he has the bulk to mix it with the big boys? I'm done waiting. We already have a spring-heeled Jack in Hammer. Get me a KPP, nuggety mid or goal-kicking HFF. Please?
