Why would we take it?

Yes, on paper it looks 'fair'. But ultimately, it's Henderson (a proven gun) for a speculative McCartin or Petrecca.

Or if we trade it for Boyd. Still no point.

I seem to remember reading earlier this year that the Saints expect to be challenging for a premiership inside the next 5 years. That would put Hendo in the right age group on the basis of this thinking.

Realistically the Saints would chase someone like Hendo to send the message to supporters that the club believes they can achieve such an ambitious goal. Deep down they would believe otherwise, but try selling memberships whilst conceding the club is nowhere near challenging for premiership success.

I doubt Hendo's going anywhere, but there will be clubs who will enquire about him.
