The noisiest minority are trans activists who claim that simply asserting you are a woman makes you a woman. There's currently a push in Australia to make it such that a person can legally be termed a woman without ever having gone through transition.

Because a birth certificate is exactly what it claims to be - a record of birth.
If a person was born a male or female, then the birth certificate should record that as a fact.
If you want to change that later on, then by all means do so - but altering history should remain the province of Hollywood movie producers.

Historians (anthropologists, in this case) rely upon accuracy of data in order to make assessments.
If you alter the historical record of birth, then you are quite possibly shooting yourself in the foot because there will be no accurate record remaining, in this example, of the number of people born one sex and wanting to change to another.
The record will not show transgender people at all, and you're not doing your actual or ideological descendants (or anthropologists) any favours.

Get your drivers licence changed. Tell everyone you're a woman, I don't care.
But do not fck with historical data. That's like blowing up statues of Buddha, to those who actually care about the truth of things.
