Travis Cloke or Jarryd Roughead?

Roughead is better than Cloke at the present time and Im biased.

Obviously I'm going to say Cloke, but i believe that both are very important to their respective team's forward lines and will both become great forwards over their careers.

Travis is a solid contributer. Provides a contest, but will never be a star. We know that now. Thought his 2008 season was disappointing. Seemed to be obsessed with pushing his opponent out of the contest, and then complaining to umps when he invariably got caught. A lot of this has to do with frustration and learning to come to terms with his limitations. Needs to refocus and apply himself better in 2009. Might never be a superstar, but will be good support when/if the Pies gets some KP forward talent in the future. Roughead is a better footballer, but does need Franklin to draw away opposition attention, otherwise he struggles.

Cloke. he always gets double teamed so is forced a lot of the time to go up the ground and get kicks. while roughead sits back while every defender worries about buddy and gets easy 1 on 1 contests. you would probably say roughead is better but if u had them both in the same team as the 2 key forwards, cloke would be much better.

Definitely not an AFL defender. I guess they only ever play on Cloke.
ANd of course everyone knows that a 1 on 1 contest in the AFL is as easy as taking a leak.

I'll give you a tip, it starts with an R and rhymes with Rutten.

Same for each side. In many cases Roughead will get the best defender as coaches like to play a more attacking or agile player on Franklin. Not necessarily a true full back.

Cloke easily - he always has to kick up a hill, against the breeze, with sand bags tied to his head and tacs in his boots. Roughead only gets goals in the goalsquare, on his own, in junk time because 90% of the field has gravitated to Buddy.

He said Cloke gets doubled team far more often than Roughead, which is 100% true, and there is no denying it at all.

Spouting crap about VFL players is completely irrelevant.

Whoever is better isn't obvious, but it is obvious Cloke deals with heavier marking than Roughead. It's hilarious some people deny this.

Its a good point that Smiddaz makes... 2 games last year Cloke had to put up with the attention of T Croad who completely took him out of the game. Meanwhile Rough had one of the Pies 2nd rate defenders like G'sack, Wakelin, Brown etc (whoever wasn't getting their pants pulled down by Buddy at the time)

I forgot that Cloke is the only player in the comp who gets double teamed, and more often than anyone else.

Of course.

It just makes sense.

And I guarantee that a player kicking 70 odd goals in a premeirship year is much better then your wayward forward. It's quite obvious.

While it was an obvious attempt at a cheapish shot... It does back up my point somewhat.

When Rocca was out, the simple equation was stop Cloke stop Collingwood. He was the number one priority in the Collingwood forward line, and he put up with multiple opponents week in week out.

Franklin deals with the same treatment, and obviously he deals with it better than Cloke does.

Fact is, Roughead doesn't have to deal with the double teaming,

When it suits them Cloke is the one shining light in the forward line.. unless Medhurst comes into the argument.. then they back him to the hilt as being a small forward playing KPF role

Thomas is a small forward unless you are bagging his poor goals / game output then he spends most of his time in the midfield. Ditto Neon Leon.
