It's been an overwhelmingly miserable few days for this planet. Let's hope Troy is safe and well.

Let's spare a thought for the Broadbridge family, his girlfriend, his teammates etc. and all the other families across the globe that have been ravaged by this.

Mother nature sure is a ********ing bitch sometimes.

Don't think the attacks on TP are at all fair.

No point approaching a situation like this with your eyes shut. As horrible as it sounds, there is a fair possibility that things will not turn out well for him.

Two of my good friends were holidaying in the area when it happened and I felt sick until their safety was confirmed last night. I can can only imagine the anxiety Troy's wife, friends and family are enduring at the moment and hope like crazy that he turns up ok.

I hope to god they find him.....bloody hell....first Army hurt badly in the Bali bombings now Troy. Please let him be alive .

As with Superstar....we spent all yesterday tracking down my best friend who is over there with her hubby and kids....thankfully they are down a bit and in BinTan....but in a hurry to get home. I was physically sick at the thought of losing my best mate....she's a kiwi and a docker supporter, i love her to bits.....cant wait to see them land home!!

Unbelieveable, simply lost for words. I hope Troy is found safe and well. Thoughts are with the Broadbridge family, and the families of all those who have died/are missing.

Christ that could mean anything...we listed my buddy yesterday and she wasnt on their system at first, they let us know that, but as we got more information and they did it become easier....In the mean time we tracked them down ourselves....mobile and land lines were down for a long time, and communication was terrible.!!

icetemple, do you know exactly what that means?? does that mean that he has contacted them for certain? you probably can't answer that, but any more meaning to that you could give would be great...

Two of my good friends were holidaying in the area when it happened and I felt sick until their safety was confirmed last night.

And if someone had come up to you before their safety was announced and said something like "If they haven't been confirmed safe by now chances are they won't be", I doubt you'd take it rationally.

Granted Troy isn't a good mate of everyone here, and there probably is merit to TP's comment, I don't think right now is the time to come out with that while everyone else is giving their prayers and hopes that he is found safe and well.

It means that his family ect would have listed him missing with the Embassy. They take down all possible details of person missing.....and then when they are found they contact you!! Its how they are found you worry about. We listed yesterday early morning Oz time and took until 11.30pm last night to hear something back. Lucky for us, it was good news.

Being 'in the system' could many many things:

- they know he is supposed to be in the area at the time it happened
or
- it's confirmed he was in the area at the time it happened and know nothing else
or
- it's confirmed he wasn't in the area at the time but are yet to establish contact
or
- it's confirmed he was in the area at the time and despite best efforts can't be located and is officially missing
or
- he's been found in good shape
or
- he's been found in a hospital
or
- any other number of horrible things.

There are thousands and thousands of people currently in 'systems' around the place, and it's unfortunate but it's going to take a long long time to work through. And regardless of the outcome being good or bad, it's only right they don't give out the info to just anyone and let the family know first.

Instead, I hope that he is both alive and not badly hurt or in fact injured at all. Strange people doing the rounds.

Just heard that about the Blues boys - Ryan Houlihan and David Clarke. As it was said before on this thread, for some reason a tragedy like this gets closer to home when it involves people you know of. Bali and Sept 11 were the same. Pretty sad stuff.

Have any other heard/seen/read the news of the Carlton lads. I can't find it anywhere on news websites - it would be a disgrace if it was a farce (not suggesting it is, just wanting confirmation).
