Over 26,000 dead - this is absolutely terrible. The fact that there are some people missing that we know of humanises the event much more, rather than just making it a statistic.
Before he started swearing at everybody, TP's post was simply stating the obvious in that it's very unlikely that he would have survived this. Some of the other posts in this thread are totally heartless and I'm sure that if it happened to a player from their club or a loved one of them, then the reaction would be totally different.

Everytime a big time disaster occurs it makes me feel so lucky to live in this country. My well wishes go out to everyone involved in this disaster. As has been said it hits even harder when someone you know even through only watching them on TV playing a sport is involved.

Seriously though, I heard that he was missing on 774 today, and I honestly felt physically ill.
My gf said "Is he the red-head that Taz went nuts at a few years ago?" And I thought bloody hell, these guys are people just like you and me. It sounds stupid, but you never really think of it this way. This bloke is at his BEST point in his life - just married and spending his honeymoon with the love of his life, then this happens.
Words cant explain how much I want him to be OK, but then there are so ********ing many other people in this exact situation that it just makes you ill.
Not meaning to double post, but again - I'm bloody praying that he's alive somewhere.

Its great for his wife and family that he was found alive. It gives hope for others who still have loved ones missing. As I said on another thread, for me he gave this tragity a name and a face as I don't know anyone personally so its great to hear the news
