Stop fighting....think about all the other poor, poor people out there in Thailand etc etc who are dying, just because Troy is famous it doesn't make him any more of a person than any one else. And don't think you know him more just because he plays footy. Geez, have some sympathy for the others out there.
I know, it is sad, it's just as bad as the bali bombing and two towers, although they weren't natural disasters!
Rave and everyone dont take this the wrong way. But unless each and everyone here who has been shocked into feeling anger ,remorse, sadness and grief clicked on the little red X in the corner and got out of your leather recliner and did something , then yes the world will change.Rave Slave said:Without sounding like a heartless ass perhaps this is the event the world needed.
The world before now was in total disarray and was collapsing upon itself, here's hoping this can unify all nations together a bit more so that no matter what creed, colour, race or religion the people affected are, we can all work together to fix what is truly one of the most horrific natural disasters of all time.
To all the people affected, be they Sri Lankan, Indonesian, Thai or otherwise. My heart, hopes and prayers go out to you. To Troy Broadbridge (of whom I can honestly say I was not a fan but who has been elevated tenfold in my eyes) I pray that you may be safe mate, but if not, you shall live on forever in the football public's hearts and minds for the true heroism you displayed in placing the life of a loved one above all else including your own personal safety.
I truly hope and pray that all those Foreigners involved return home safely and here's hoping the government provides as much assistance as we can possibly muster to help out these poor unfortunate souls.
All football aside this is a massive tragedy - We really are the lucky country...

But you wont, I wont and next weeks story will overtake these events rapidly as the media look for the next thing to sell papers and keep people watching tv.
I am also confused as to why someones stocks rise tenfold for been missing? Isnt that a little overkill? I hope the footballer is ok but he is a person not a saint, he didnt carry homeless people out of alleyways when he was back in Melbourne?Unless I missed something?
As posted people will forget as soon as Mog or Seven or SaveFerris post a thread based on Seinfelds nothing.
My apologies.. I used the three because to me you are the ones more likely to start a thread and keep everyone amused with the randomness of nothing...as Seinfeld was described...I was more having a shot at the people on BF who respond to some of those threads with the glee of little children left alone with red crayon.By all means start a thread on whichever topic amuses you I wont think less of you.SaveFeriss said:(I didnt enjoy you using me as an example there PerthCrow... Should I not be allowed to start a trivial thread now because of this tragedy?)

It's really hitting EVERYONE very hard. And sadly, it's just going to get worse for a while yet.

Certainly true. IIIRC the BAM earthquake exactly one year earlier (what is it about boxing day?) only got a tiny fraction of attention given to this disaster, largely because without names or faces, it's a largely impersonal thing (although I know someone who lost 20 members of her family in Bam)moomba said:Like everyone else I hope for the best for Troy. There has been a fair bit on the tragedy in the media, but rightly or wrongly it sometimes takes that personal stuff to stand up and take notice.
Why pray? Surely if you believe in God you believe this is His work?smasha said:Let's all pray together for Troy.
I'm not a religious man but this is worth it.

All people of faith should be "impressed" yet again with his ability to exterminate people of all ages, faiths and race.
LMFAO - pray, yeah that'll help.![]()
No, that would be "You're a *************"rizzo said:Your a ****************
probably not the right time to discuss if God is "true" or not
