Roast Tyson Stengle sacked after ****ing up again

Unfortunately for Tyson he’s not a star player so he’s more expendable. If it was Dangerfield or Dustin they would have found a way to keep him on.

Yeah and if your aunty had balls she'd be your uncle.

Tyson isn't anywhere near those guys for a few reasons. And one is dedication and commitment. The likelihood that Dangerfield or Dusty find themselves in the same situation as Tyson is 0%. The same percentage that Stengle would ever reach the heights of those other two.

So it's just a ridiculous comparison.

Get him off the books and give another kid a crack that actually appreciates it.

If this was any of us we lost our day jobs months ago and without a payout
And 10's of thousands of us have mandatory drug and alcohol testing at our work places and would be gone on the spot if we failed one

Has he failed a drug test though? Or has he rocked up at training/game day under the influence?

I can be drug/alcohol tested at work and need to be clean, but if I have a month off work then that's none of work's business

Shit, Dusty hasn't been in those situations before?? For Dusty, what Stengle has done is "Tuesday".

Like the vast majority of Australia's workforce. Some people need to read some case law on unfair dismissal. But then the people that normally spruik such flawed matter of fact knowledge wouldn't know where to start.

Slow down mate. The point is that marginal players are less valuable and more likely to be cut than the stars, that’s just the way of the world. For what it’s worth I don’t have any problem with his axing.

So is the decision to be made on his misdemeanours? Or how talented he is? If he was a proven elite player, would we be quick to dismiss?

It's both. You want to **** up off field? You need to be good enough or talented enough for a club to want to stick by you. Martin hasn't had issues and he's done things that are a lot worse then Stengle (the chopstick incident, bringing bikies into the change rooms etc).

Stengle wasn't good enough to survive multiple misdemeanors. Someone like Martin was. Especially when there is a reward to opening up a list spot.

Sucks as it is for two mountain out of a molehill type of an issue (the DUI is not), but bad press is bad press.

Public Service?

I would suggest not.

How many industries would terminate employment for drug use during Annual Leave?

I know a guy who would have a cone each morning before getting into his SS each day to work at Holdens. Worked there for over 20 years never got caught.

He is now self employed. Lawn mowing/yard maintenance. I doubt any of his customers can tell he has about three cones a day.

Very irresponsible, but hides it well.

His main issue will be getting pulled over by cops in a random test.

But he hasnt had three strikes.. he’s had one confirmed strike and, on another occassion a photo shown in the medai of him sitting next to a plate of white powder. Was it coke?, probably, but “probably” doesnt stand up in a court of law..

The AFL policy is three strikes. So far its only one confirmed strike.
That part of my point...I didnt think at this point in time that he has had the three strikes

Zero tolerance for train drivers ..... sack.

Exactly right right. I was one for 20 years and watched 3 young drivers get sacked in a 12 month period. At least another half a dozen went after 3 strikes for booze. This was over 20 years though but I remember those because I worked with them. Felt for the young ones , they all had young families. The others were old, near retirement anyway and had been drinking most of their lives on the job. No testing in their early decades. Caught them out quickly. 0.00 was the booze limit.
