Thanks, yes I had a look myself and couldn’t see him listed or mentioned. I thought this would’ve been just the right type of fixture to introduce him in some capacity.

Must be something behind the scenes. Perhaps not training well enough or along those lines, Arteta appears to have high expectations for those vying for a game.

Torreira’s deal still seems highly contingent upon Atleti selling one of their midfielders first. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to activate that €50m Partey release clause?

Geez we’re leaving a few things late and open to chance. Deals for Kolasinac still lingering, need to finalise Sokratis, Nelson and Saliba appear available for loan, and all quiet on Guendouzi.

The Saliba thing is annoying, we just aren't in a position as a club to be spending 30 mill on a defender and loaning him for 2 seasons.

The Torriera deal seems of little value to us also, not clearing a big wage, no transfer fee and no obligation to buy.

Currently our CM options read Ceballos, Xhaka, Elneny and Willock, disastrous for a team supposedly chasing CL football.

He’s had a difficult year and is taking time to adjust to a new country and setting, I often forget he’s still just 19. Maybe it was unrealistic to expect him to be a regular starter in the first team this season.

What’s of more concern for me is the difficulty in offloading players who are clearly not in Arteta’s picture. New signings are predicated on selling/loaning the likes of Sokratis, Guendouzi, Kolasinac.

Then there’s also Mustafi and Ozil who have their own stories in why we can’t move them on. It shouldn’t be like this at a club like Arsenal but for various reasons it is.

Was surprised to see Kolasinac play in the league cup a few days ago, if a player is on the verge of a sale usually they don’t feature in the squad for fear or injury etc.
