TY24 I did the stadium tour in 2012 (amazing). Lauren was there the day I went and I had a chat with him. I remember having tears walking down the tunnel. Pretty amazing feeling.

And what a shame your matchw as the Ipswich match, I remember watching it and boy was it a hard watch lol

I managed to go to a few games in 2019. A cup game, a Europa game and a league game against Bournemouth plus an away game to Old Trafford sitting in the away end.

Hanging with fellow gooners and having a few prior and walking down to each game was such an awesome feeling. Just wish we were better at the time.

Worst part was we went to Spurs v Wolves a few days later and that was a cracker...

Did have to try not to celebrate Wolves late equalizer too hard given we were sitting in Row 1 of the home section

My view of Wolves first goal (free kick) was amazing.

If Liverpool sign Isak we might as well pack in the season before it starts.

Newcastle have to hold firm. I don't see how we weren't going to be all over that if there was a possibility. TBH I'd prefer Isak over both Gyokores and Madueke.

Arsenal have been so interested in Isak for so long, and were so abrupt to abandon that pursuit this window to focus on Ben and Vik, my sense is Isak is either, a) not moving under any circumstances, or b) the asking price is just too unrealistic.

I have no doubt that if there was more than a 20% chance Isak was gettable, Arteta would have held out right up up to 31 August.

So that means Liverpool are either kidding themselves, or paying the sum total of our transfer window outlay for one player.

This may not be a popular opinion, I think Isak at £130m+ isn’t something Arsenal should have pursued. Arsenal’s poor previous windows have left so much to do across the squad. Even though he’s by the far the best option on the market (if he’s even available), Arsenal’s prior inaction has left gaps across the striker role, wide forwards, midfield, GK and so on.

Committing such an enormous amount of resources into the one position would’ve been questionable, with his injury history you just never know if we’d end up short again when crunch time comes and you need him 3 times a week and his body breaks down again.

The ship sailed unfortunately after Arteta punted Aubameyang, that was the time to acquire him. For now, there’s a rationale behind utilising that money across multiple positions in the squad to mitigate the same kind of cluster effect of injuries that derailed the club last season. Not suggesting for a moment that I wouldn’t take him over the duo of Gyokeres and Madueke for the same outlay, I’m just saying there’s a logic behind it.

There’s also the possibility that he has just outright rejected any advances from anyone else aside from Liverpool. That’s entirely possible, like when a player is hellbent on one team only, and if he’s going to leave then he only wants one destination. Let’s see.

I imagine the issue is that the saga would have dragged out for too long. We can't afford to waste time.

Bit of a lull...

Why is there always a span of time between the proverbial 'here we go' and the actual announcement? Do all parties have to adhere to a cooling off period or something?

I think the squad flies to Asia tomorrow UK time, so any new additions you’d imagine would want to be finalised and registered by then for them to be on the plane.

Madueke would need a few weeks off anyway given he’s had no break yet. Perhaps Mosquera and Gyokeres (once those final details are sorted) can join the tour a few days after if need be.

Seems to be getting really drawn out now... I'm sure if there was any danger of the deal collapsing, Fabrizio would be all over it for the clicks.

This tweet from Sky is the first reputable update there's been for a few days

Seems like we're all in on getting this over the line as there's been very little news about Eze and Rodrygo hasn't been mentioned at all for while either.

I did see this last night but not sure how reputable it is.

Somewhere in Portugal reported we were ending interest in Rodrygo. Unsure on credibility.
I think we're into our selling phase. With the additions of Madueke, Mosquera and Gyokeres, plus Nwaneri's promotion, our listed squad is 28- strong.

For Eze, Rodrygo and now Xavi Simmon to be added we'd have to ship at least 6 players.

Viera, Nelson, Hein, Lokonga feel certain.

Zinchenko and Trossard probable.

Martinelli and Kiwior possible, but hope not.

I’m relatively new to this thread, been posting on this board on and off for a few years but never really ventured into the teams threads before this year.

Had the pleasure of going to London for the first time ever for Chirstmas last year, and got to go to my first ever Premier League game, home against Ipswich Town.

The match itself wasn’t much of a spectacle. It was a low block with the whole team behind the ball the entire game pretty much, can’t expect much else when a relegation battler is playing away to 2nd place.

We went to the team shop mid morning to get a scarf so I could do the obligatory photos holding up the scarf, then to fill in some time we spent an hour or two just walking the streets of N5. It’s a lovely area near the ground. A lovely local lady saw us trying to find our way into Highbury and gave us some directions as well as having a good chat with us while she walked to her home. Said she’d been living there for years and used to be able to hear the crowd from Highbury clear as day from her living room.

After supporting this club for near on 15 years, finally getting to a game at The Emirates was really special. Singing North London Forever is something that will stay with me for a very long time.

We went back the next day for the proper stadium tour which was pretty cool as well, got some awesome photos from the dugout.

I've tried to format this in a way so my photos don't hog too much of the screen. Photos from my trip are behind the spoiler button for those who are interested. Anyway, just wanted to give myself a late introduction :) COYG

Great photos! Made it over for the Bournemouth game in May. We lost  . Been over twice now and haven't seen a win. I may be bad luck.

Madueke confirmed and Mosquera leaked (lol) and we're still haggling over Gyokores. Considering the last 2 big Gyok updates have been Sunday night UK time, we may get something this weekend. Fingers crossed.

Surely getting close to completing the deal for Gyokeres. The structure of and amount of add ons seems to be a sticking point. Who even knows if that was his actual house with the Removalists being filmed haha.

Great to have one of the 3 (Madueke) now official. Mosquera’s photos being leaked is unusual however a sign of the times now. Madueke to have a few weeks off and not be a part of the Asia tour which is a wise decision, the schedule for players is unrelenting.
