No Rusling, as expected, but Jarrod Blight is there, making his debut finally.

Pity it's in Bendigo, too far to travel for a VFL game, hope it's on 3SER again.

Good to see Blight back. Be interesting to see how he goes in his 1st VFL game.

It appears they have put the brakes on Rusling. Here's hoping it's just being cautious and nothing more.

Still looks a well balanced side on paper. Looks a lot better side than last year's version.

No, next weeks game has been moved from North Ballarat to Princess Park and back from 1pm to 2pm and isn't the TV game anymore.

Which is bloody devastating because being in Ballarat would have been awesome to see the boys here.....

Devastated. :(

Spewing that next week's game isn't on telly anymore, but they're scheduling the TV games in chunks of about 4 games at a time, so maybe they'll fix us up for another televised game soon.

Great to see Jarrad Blight in the side! :thumbsu:

What's going on with the Rus?

Another small setback apparently, although news hasnt been fast in coming out about it.

The CFC website says 2-4 weeks now, as it said 1-2 last week.

I'd suspect he is a chance to play VFL next week, but either way it has to be a worry.

If the site says 2-4, then it means he won't play football for 2-4. He won't be playing reserves net week.

The 2-4 doesn't relate to when he will be playing seniors, but football of any kind.

It is a MAJOR worry and my hopes for Rus are just about snuffed out.

Shame...

Thought I'd give this a bump so we've got something to focus on Sunday morning. ;)

Still nothing around in terms of a broadcaster for the game which sucks... I'm really looking forward to hearing about Blighty's first game in black and white. :thumbsu:

There should be a few that could go into contention on this game...

We were definitely top heavy yesterday with 4-5 marking forwards at all times, and excess hieght in the backline to cover their smalls. Team balance didn't look right.

Would expect replacements would need to be found to replace Goldsack, L Brown, maybe Toovey. Heater and Dids should come in, as well as maybe a second ruckman, but we need more mids in there. We were smashed in the centre square clearances...

The game against Essendon should really spur on some of these fringe players to perform today.

There are positions up for grabs. They can take them.

So is it confirmed that there is NO broadcast of this match? Not even on that radio station from last week. If it is the case, instead of spending the extra $200k on Malty, how about putting some money into the Magpies Radio Station, and it can broadcast all Pies two's games. Pump some money in, they sure do make it hard to follow the both, without spending your whole weekend, driving around the state to watch. Vic Park is where we should play all Home games, and Bendigo, or Ballarat, Magpie Radio would have it for us. Even home games, people in the crowd should be able to listen. We want to know how everyone is going. Please Pies, be innovative, and make the Magpies, the easiest and most informative side to support.

^ I agree, it's bad enough when we had those curtain-raisers at the MCG to look forward to, then they were scrapped.
Then the games scheduled for Vic Park end up at Price Fixer Park.
Then next week's game which was set to be on ABC TV is moved, so we get nothing.
Now this week's game isn't being broadcast on any station.

Friggin' disappointing effort, frankly. :(

The Vic Park games haven't been moved as yet, last I heard they were still in discussions and some of the games depends on the fixturing on Fitzroy Stars in the NFL who have Vic Park as their home ground. The NFL division 2 splits in half after round 13 and a new fixture is released for the rest of the season, so hopefully none clash with the VFL games.

Jared Carey who worked at Collingwood runs the NFL so hopefully he does the right thing :thumbsu:
