Wright - playing well enough to put his hand up at selection.
Saad - probably our best … (his game) was so well rounded.
Templeton - even though he didn’t impact greatly, he got an opportunity and … nailed it.
Holmes - a nearly world record 60 hit outs … starting find the footy … marking has improved rapidly.
Lee - didn’t get out-marked … had some solid games in a row.
Payne - impacted defensively coming in off the square … improving every week.
McKenzie - 11 disposals but when he got the footy and ran, they couldn’t catch him.
Siposs - looked accomplished … he hurt the opposition with his ball use.
Goddard – (early) tackles set the scene … marking was good … could have easily kicked five.
Markworth - when he used his legs, we created opportunities … good first game back.
Pierce - got to a lot of contests and brought the ball to ground … follow-up work was the best I’ve seen it.
Simpkin - good job on his direct opponent.
McCartin - looked dangerous and did his job.
Baker-Thomas (dev) - spoiling in defence was excellent and we are continuing to work on his offensive game.

Not a crazy amount of extra info on grimlock's stats, but Saad with 3 score assists to go with 3.3 (and 11 contested possessions and 8 tackles). Sippa and Eli with a couple of score assists each.

Goddard's stats just don't do him justice, even if he struggled in the second half fitness-wise. Should have had 2 score assists (but Saad didn't make the distance from 35 on the boundary), and could have kicked 4 goals instead of 2.3.
Woh, woh, woh. What happened to the y and the 1970?! o_O

A LOT more superlatives than our coaches usually indulge in there. Huddo was clearly very impressed, and pretty excited, by what he saw on Saturday! Safe to say we have some real beauties playing in our seconds right now.

Like I've said before, who'd be a selector right now! Best problem to have, of course. :)

So no Saunders as well?

The club seems reluctant to play guys in the VFL reserves, which isn't normally much of an issue (except with our current injury list). Don't know the specifics, but they didn't bother playing Hickey, Schneider and Sinclair (who would have been high quality inclusions). With the two late withdrawals (Roberton and Billings) they probably saw the opportunity to keep the list together by bringing Siposs and Markworth up (and giving certain guys a rest - not sure what the go was with Murds).

Has anyone been able to determine whats going on with Spencer White at the moment?

Can anyone play for Sandringham this week? I'd like to see Acres as Ross go back and play a full game.
Both teams have a bye, to stop this exact thing from happening.

I wonder if Lee will ever get a crack. He can't do any more so it will come down to how Richo rates him I guess.
Going by some of what Richo has said in recent days, he really, really likes to have some serious versatility in his back 6 and to be able to chop and change as many of them as he can between someone tall, short, or medium and that would probably be why he keeps on persisting with someone like Shenton ahead of him, even though IMO Lee has more upside and talent and is more worth getting some games into.

The fact that Gilbo (who is also super-versatile) was almost ready to go may have also had a bearing on whether we played Lee or not. We may have preferred to not give Lee a shot in the last few weeks as we wanted to keep that spot open for Gilbo as soon as he was ready and thus played a shorter backline until he was.

I don't imagine we'll see Tom in the seniors until late in the year if we have injuries, if at all now, which I think is a real shame as I like what he would bring to the table (especially his kicking and intercept marking).

Yes they can. Get down there at 2.10 if you want to see me run around. If you'd like to played I'll be doing a gee up at 2.05. Make your own banner, kids only making mine wide enough for 1. I'm hoping for a full game from Ross and Acres too, though if Acres doesn't hit me lace out, he's coping a spray.

If you're prepared to listen to Conan the Preposterous (I suppose mute is an option) there are a couple of highlights. Hugh's brutal tackle at 0:43, although Eli's unfortunate switch features at 4:57.

Couple more highlights - yes, yes ... it would be good to put them all in one package. From 0:39 you can see Paddy's long goal and a clever mark by Hugh (after getting rid of Willy J in the same motion).
