VFL vs AFL club support

Just a question for Victorians.....when the AFL / VFL club alignments came in, did it require you to perhaps change your club of support in the VFL, or have you stayed with your original even though the 'reserves' of an opposition AFL club.

I'm thinking if you supported Sandringham for example, and were a St Kilda supporter becasue you lived along the bay, did you jump off Sandy when they were aligned to Melbourne for example?

I live in Melbourne these days, and the system is obviously very different to W.A where your local WAFL team could end up any given week with both Dockers and Eagles players lining up.

That's the sort of thing I expected to come across.....had you been a Bullants fan long...were you / are you aprticularly passionate about football at VFL level?

Yep, changed from Sandringham to Bendigo, although I'm not really that passionate about either.

went to quite a few games in the mid-late 90s, when they were the Preston Bullants before the afl reserves became part

ideally it would have been great had collingwood alligned with Preston as it is a huge collingwood area....as soon as they joined with carlton i just couldnt bring myself to support them

Have been a long time Williamstown supporter before and after they aligned with Collingwood , but suprisingly they won a permiership soon after so I cant complain.

I was a Weribee fan until Carlton had their own stand alone VFL team. Now that Carlton has an alliance with the Northern Bullants, I support them.

i was a springvale fan cos my high school PE teacher was the head coach at the time (peter nicholson)

I was a Williamstown supporter, stuck with them until collingwood alligned with them. Now i vaguely follow Werribee, but only a passing interest because of the presence of Footscray players. Tis a shame because i used to go to a few games of VFA every year but cant be arsed now.

Ditto for me, although I have some interest also in Frankston for some reason as well.
