Plenty of future assistant coaches from both clubs as well like Luke Power, Nigel Lappin, Blake Caracella, Brendon Lade, Jarrad Schofield, Brett Montgomery etc. Remarkably, 10 of the last 21 AFL premierships have been won by a future head coach that participated in the 2004 AFL Grand Final and that number would be even higher if you included those involved as assistants or admins.

So, with all that in mind, was the 2004 AFL Grand Final a window into the future and a meeting of minds that will never be seen in one game again?

IIRC in 1985 the Hawks had the following:
Leigh Matthews
Rodney Eade
Ken Judge
Gary Buckanara
Terry Wallace
Peter Schwab
Gary Ayres

And the Bombers had the following:
Tim Watson
Mark Harvey
Neale Daniher
Tony Elsaugh (stand-in)
Mark Thompson

So that's 12, without even counting the many assistants.

Elite.
You can also add Clarko, Mattews and Walsh to 2004
