For home games not broadcast on free to air, I normally go to my local - the Great Northern. Sure it's convenient but the food is ridiculously overpriced and it's not that comfy. It's also in Carlton and the locals tend to shit me.

Do Melbourne based supporters have a favourite haunt in which to watch Fremantle play? I think the Fitzroy Dockers used to gather at the East Brunswick Club after the Eastern Derby to watch the real thing. Is this a regular occurrence?

I'm in Ballarat (hour outside of melbourne) and with all the pubs here the best place i've found is Zagames because they have a good LCD TV and i can have the sound up while the game is on :)

Haven't been in and around melbourne pubs for a while so not sure what ones are popular or still there.

Thats why i got foxtel, not because i love the doulset tones of Slappo but, because i got fed up being harrased at pubs when watching the dockers!

Cheers for the tip Nodgey.

After a couple of false starts I managed to get there at half time. Decent sized screen and good staff. The fact they didn't have a kitchen worked in my favour as they don't mind BYO food - handy being on Lygon.

I thought someone from BF might be there so I introduced myself to one of the only other Dockers supporters there.

"Excuse mate, are you Nodgey?"
"No, Nodgey is my brother. How do you know him?"
I'm feeling a bit sheepish now.
"Big Footy."
"Yeah right, I'm Dockerland Sox. Who are you?"
"Ogrebait."

My mate was cacking herself. Did you guys stay with the screen names all day at the Moondyne Joe's get together?
