No excuse, we dropped the ball in a major, major way today.

Your conspicuous silence re: Simmo for three months as we romped to 10-1 just seems funny in contrast to the last two weeks.

Every fan base thinks their team has horrible fade outs. Every single one. That was a horrendous result we never should have lost, absolutely. But to constantly pot shot a coach who time and time again puts us in position to win, while offering no alternative and no suggestions, is getting old.

He threw McGovern forward today like you wanted. We mixed things up at the coal face. McInnes losing his head, guys taking an eternity with someone on their hammer, how are these coaching issues? He can’t kick the footy for them.

Who would you like to replace Simmo of the available coaching pool?

It wasnt the positional moves its the messaging. What the hell did he tell them at 3vqtr time?

I honestly believe it was poor coaching. We went negative late in the third by trying to milk the clock. From that moment on, we gave away momentum and either side of 3 qtr time, Adelaide had something like 10 straight inside 50's. don't think it was fitness because we ran the game out fine. We have done this on several occasions this year when we should have gone for the jugular. It hasn't cost us until now. WTF message did Simpson give at 3 qtr time? Really poor Simpson.
Hard to imagine that his instructions at the final break were go lose all composure with decision-making. I do agree that shutting up shop prematurely in the 3rd was unwise. Don't know if it was player initiated or Simmo initiated, but it surrendered some decent momentum we had.

Be lucky to make finals from here. But it's not the coaches fault it's the players...
So did he coach alright for the first 11 rounds? I'm interested to know how you reconcile the fact we won 10 in a row with our current form, you attribute the losses to him but not the wins.

As bad as that last quarter was we are still second but will most likely drop to third tomorrow. Season is not over but we have to get back to the footy we played against Richmond. The season starts again next week.

Still second lol.

It's been a month since we won a game.e of football

He’s already answered that. The wins don’t count because they were all when things were going our way. That was the sincere response. All 10 of those games were played on our terms, so they don’t count as coaching wins.

He isn’t wrong though.
I would say it's so obvious Nic is carrying some kind of injury or that suspension has prevented him playing his natural game - probably a bit of both. But how can a team go off the boil so much - I know we are missing our 3 best forwards and our full back, but there's obviously an attitude problem somewhere - Simmo the balls in your court to keep the boys motivated.

I've said all along he's a poor game day coach.

We got lucky winning a few of those games.
Geelong a run of 8 goals was stopped by Ablett doin his hamstring. Simpson didn't do anything to arrest that.
We got lucky St Kilda didn't kick straight. St Kilda!!! Got a run on of 6 unanswered goals.

Essendon lol...

There are coaching issues in the Eagles.

We were killing them at that point. Instead of putting it to bed, we chipped the ball around half back until eventually we conceded a goal.

You've got to be kidding right?

Lol. I'll make sure to keep expressing my displeasure in Simmo next time we win ok.

Would that be acceptable?

I'll post whatever the **** I want whenever the **** I want to.

Mate that’s fine, everyone is entitled to post what they like. Just the fact you’ve ignored our 10 straight because none of them count, and are now repeatedly piling on Simmo and Simmo alone in the losses.

You can be critical of Simpson and our coaching staff, our decisions, our ability to hold our nerve. All of those things are fine. But have a bit of nuance about it, not everything is the worst it’s ever been.

Simmo is the luckiest bloke alive given, in your mind, he is an absolutely horrendous coach. Most people never even get to coach a game of footy, and Simmo fluked his way to a Grand Final, a 10 games straight streak and has never had a losing season in his coaching life. He should buy a lotto ticket.

Ah, my bad, was pretty much as I thought his reasoning would be.

That's the thing with Simmo though - when things are going well he looks like a world beater but when things turn sour he's too slow to make moves and sometimes not always the right moves.

INJURY LIST
Updated June 26, 2018

Tom Barrass (back) 1-2 weeks
Jack Darling (ankle) 3-4 weeks
Malcolm Karpany (ITB friction) 4-5 weeks
Josh Kennedy (knee) 2-3 weeks
Mark LeCras (wrist) test

More fun times ahead.

Heads really should roll from this game tbh, the leaders aren't leading and the senior players are just going to water

Really deflated

I don’t think it’s a motivation or attitude thing, excluding the first quarter vs Essendon. We have our two pillars out of the side and our full back too for good measure. We are restricted in what we can do with flexibility and our small forwards are having a horrible time without Darling and JK making contests.

As far as I am concerned, we are screwed until we get back two of Barrass, JK and Darling. It also shows that the drafting of the KPP’s last year was shrewd.

Kennedy will be longer than that, leg fractures are iffy and he's an older player, will be another month, maybe two.
