Ok so im bored but i am reading a LOT of pessimism. If we have given up on WCE winning this week then what chance have the players got of giving it their best? So what i want you to do whether you think this is pointless or not:D is post POSTIVES about the upcoming game, something to look forward to, an area we could kill them in etc, something in general that is OPTIMISTIC about this game. No pessimistic things, just good things! Of course its all opinion

Ill start off by saying we should get the upper hand in the ruck with Geelong missing King.

1. They have no ruckman

2. Fletcher should be back

3. Our midfield should have more depth than theirs (Chambers has just got a game and looks good - add to that - Cousins, Kerr, Judd (hopefully in better form this week), Braun (in career best form), Jones, Read, Chick etc

I think the best positive will be that we are facing a Challenge over the coming weeks, and I'd love for our guys to relish it and come through it.

Despite all the injuries, this may be the best thing for our younger guys, particularly the second-tier younger guys, because it gives them their real first big challenge in the AFL - stepping up without our best players.....

Woosha seemed to be much happier with our performance this week. He seems to think it was an improvement on the St Kilda game ( I know, cant be that hard to be better after that, but still.....).Another week on the track and (hopefully) if we can get Fletcher and maybe Gaspar back we could in for a game........

It would be nice for us to get back onto the winning track, but I dont really see us winning another H&A game this season.

With the current crop of injuries and poor form, I feel we are letting ourselves down at the wrong end of the season.

If we lose to Geelong and our confidence suffers another blow, I just cant see us being a force in the finals. On current form, Fremantle will belt us in the final game and we will be dragging ourselves into the finals.

It's a pity as I believe we are a lot better than last year, but I also see us finishing the season in 8th and losing our one and only final.

Just hope John can now add some spark back to this side and get them back on track.

A tad ignorant mate.

Our backup ruckmen might not be the greatest talents in the league, but they can more than hold their own.

If Gardiner doesn't play, i'm confident we can break even in the ruck.

is street still rucking for you guys?

If we want any chance of a top 4 spot (extremely unlikely) we must win the next three.

If we don't, we have to settle for a 5th or 6th. This game is uber important, we must win, simple as that.

I can't believe what I'm reading on here, especially from supporters who's team has won 12 of 19 games this season going into a game against a team who's won half that many.

Anyway, check out the Geelong point of view in the below thread and feel free to contribute if you want. :)

Geez - I'm no Wiggles friend.. but hang on GB!!!

1. "If we lose to Geelong..." I reckon you're looking at better than a 50/50 of coming away with a win,

2. THEN - you play Melbourne at home... Fair go - they are a dead-set rabble.. you'd have to rate yourselves the raging favourites going in to that game, despite having just dropped one at Subi and being down on form,

3. Okay I agree with you on this one - no arguments there ;) - on current form freo will belt the living daylights out of you, but hey worst case scenario, one out of three, best case two out of three - aint all that bad.

When you're about 10 goals behind at 3/4 time, that's when you can give up, but not before the start of the game. :D

I really hope your contribution to this thread is intended to be reverse psychology. At the very least we should be able to beat Melbourne.

1. If you get on top of us in the ruck, I can see Geelongs Midfield getting the better of ours.

2. Melbourne at home is not a certain win. Last year they beat us at home too, very similar to our game against the Saints last year when they beat us by 50 points and the same happened again this year. Melbourne seem to match up well on us.

3. The Violets are in better form and seem to be playing with a lot of passion. The last game of the season is the one which shall decide our future in the finals. I would love to see us win this game, but I think the Frockers will get over the line in this one.

4. After watching the replay of the Adelaide game (since I had to work) I should not come here in a dark frame of mind and post. Pessimism gets the better of me.

In all honesty, I wish we do win all 3, but I see at the best 1 win and another 2 losses.
