In my opinion, we have **** all picks in the draft so Carr has to try and find players that fill a need at a low cost or free.

It's probably a smart way to go considering our situation, our list when healthy is not bad so filling in some needs is all we can do.
I believe the approach is to rebuild our depth. Probably the only way he can do this under our current draft and trade situation.

From his highlight package I suspect he'll be a regular next season. He was so smooth that at times I thought I was watching Josh Kelly and other times Whitfield about to give off only to realize it was our new boy carrying the ball and kicking with skill.

The bottom up approach to improving our list is what’s needed IMO. We’ve been uncompetitive at SANFL level for much of the past three years, and when injuries have hit, we’ve fallen away quickly at AFL level.

We do have substantial improvement that should come from within our existing list. We’ve got the second most under 25 yo players in the comp and many of them have not yet peaked. With a stronger coaching/development program around them, better fitness/strength/conditioning and a more winning mindset, we should expect most of JHF, Visentini, Whitlock, Sinn, Jones, Ramm, Berry, Moraes, Evans, Burgoyne, Lorenz to be much improved next year.

Georgiades, Butters, Rozee, Sweet, Aliir will benefit by having better players to support them and a stronger game plan.

Drew, Farrell, Marshall and Wines should benefit by new voices in the coaching box and hopefully, Carr’s ruthless culture. Bergman, Lukosius, Ratugolea, BZT, Jones, Marshall also from a better conditioning / fitness department to keep them out of the medical rooms.

Add 3 AFL capable players to strengthen that 25-35 tier group (Wehr, Brodie, Watkins) and 2 to add to that 15-25 group (Fiorini, Rogers). Then one high-ceiling untried young player through the draft.

In the last game we won against the Gold Coast, we had Lord, Ratkins, Mead, McEntee and fat Rioli playing at the back end of the rotation with rookies galore. Boak also played but got a fair whack of possies..

The truth is, we have got the star power. Three of the best under-25 mids in the comp — Butters, Rozee, JHF. One of the best young full forwards in Georgiades, with solid support from Marshall and Lukosius, and Whitlock looking like a future star tall forward.

We’ve got three solid rucks. Down back, Aliir leads the way with BZT and Ratugulea as solid stoppers, and Ramm shaping as a future gun key defender.

All we need now is the right mix of reliable role depth players around them and we can get back to being a serious contender.

Highlights package tells you that he's good when he gets the ball, stat sheet tells you that he doesn't get it enough. The challenge for Jacob and the coaching staff is to get the ball in his hands 15-20 times a game. If we can do that he can be best 22 for us.

I've got a feeling he'll be starting on one of the wing spots in round 1 with a good pre-season under his belt, and we'll use him as more of an outlet than what he was used at GWS. I'm being hopeful but I think he'll be a smart get for us.

Jacob needs to go WEHR the ball is.😏🤣

If Wehr's disposal by foot can be anywhere near that shown in his highlights package for GWS I suspect blokes like Georgiadis and Lukosius would be licking their lips in anticipation, but even if he doesn't become an AFL regular and during his time on the Power list he plays most of his games for the Maggies he will still a better option than many players who have worn the PB's in recent seasons!
