I should clarify saying they've definitely got one already sorted other than Webster - though that coach is still involved in the finals so nothing will be announced until they're eliminated.

Selwood would have links with Webster and Carr from his time in the West with Eagles maybe?

Why would skipworth leave a senior assistant coaching role to effectively get the same role with port.

If we get him I’d be very happy but I’m not sure why he’d come unless he needs to get back to Sth Australia.

Maybe the challenge of a rebuild, won a premiership already, so for a dev /assistant the journey is sometimes more exciting?

Both Hale and Boyd coached with Carr at Freo thinking it's one of those 2. Hale would be a huge get is very well regarded

Looking at the coaching profiles of clubs

Hawthorn: Hale is mids - assistant coach
Collingwood: Skipsworth is Senior Assistant (midfield) with Boyd as assistant coach (midfield)

My guess based on that would be Boyd joining us

Im not sure about hiring assistant coaches from basket case football club is going to help our situation. Carr knows better, so I have to trust his judgement on this one.

My expectations are low anyway for next year, so surprise me.

Premiership club tries to squeeze out one more flag from its core group of players, trades out too many top picks for senior players and pays too much for some of them, eg Tim Kelly 13+24+37, hang on to injury prone premiership and other senior players for too long and list gets blown up and full of kids 5 years or so away from being big contributors.

Thats on the senior coach who was sacked, list manager and footy ops manager for turning the club into a basket case. Not an assistant coach.

Ive watched a reasonable amount of West Coast this year, and given the amount of footy oppo clubs are putting inside their forward 50, young defenders like Reuben Ginbey, Sandy Brock and Harry Edwards have shown pretty good improvement and development this year. Webster has been their defence coach.

Edit McGovern only played 6 games this year, before concussion ended his career, so he couldn't help out the young defensive players too often.

You cant blame Webster for the errors of 5 or 6 years of those above him who contol the list.

Well that was well articulated by Carr. Going to be weird having a coach that makes sense.
