He was one of my favourite young players for years when he started. Always have loved his effort and his ability to win one on ones. The problem is with him, which I was always hoped he could develop was his outside game. Unfortunately he never has, he really struggles to get involved when we have the ball. He doesn't have bad disposals and doesn't make bad decisions normally when he does have time. I do agree with some he does have a tendency to just smash the ball on his foot and kick it forward in a clearance situation.

He can play forward and played a lot of his early footy there. Decent shot on goal and isn't a bad mark above his head.

Has played some good games over his career, but has struggled to improve on them. He is one of those guys I hope he does well and wish him the best.

I think he got delisted because he doesn't have muh improvement, players like Browne and O'brien have come on well. Have shown ability to find the ball more than him and be more damaging. They have a few more tricks. We have a lot of slow inside mids and he is the worst one

Interesting rambo. Whoever the reporter was talking about his injuries was quickly corrected during his interview. Has anyone heard why he was cut from the Dons ? From an outsiders point of view still looked in their best 22 or very close. Slats or anyone else know anything ?? cheers in advance
Well, he was just about the last guy given a contract last year. And (again) wasn't in the best 22 by the end of the year. And he's been @ Essendon 6-7 years.

The Goddard signing had to have a casualty or 2. I wonder if he was a victim of circumstance?
Doubt it.
Monfries to Port got us about 300k to play with, then there were 4-5 guys (like Sammy) who'd been around 4+ years, and would've been on 200k at least, without ever really being convincing best 22 players.

I just remember Ty Vickery making him look like a witches hat to kick the sealer, in the dying minutes of our 2011 Dreamtime at the G victory ;)

Go to the four minute mark...

Maybe he felt morally obliged to let the team with the better sash, colours and song (and also his future employers) win? :D

They have enough inside mids, just not enough outside class IMO

Good post, totally agree squire.
Need more Zaharakis' in the squad ;)

Happy to have him. We have quite a lot of outside options but outside relatively few inside midfielders.

The flaws on his game - tank, hopefully can be improved and little outside ability shouldn't matter as his job will be to win the ball and give it off to a classier user.

Given we ranked something like 10th in clearances, strengthening this are (albeit with a rookie selection) is a smart move by the club. Puts pressure on Jacko to perform and is a ready made replacement if Foley, Tuck or Jackson goes down. Will also be able to shelter the kids at Coburg while they develop their bodies.

To be honest, I think he'll get a quick upgrade.
He's been given a very specific role to do from Dimma, get the ball and pass it out, he's there to take the pressure off Cotchin and Co on the inside, he'll be resting forward when he needs a break. He's been asked to step his cardio up a level in the off-season.
Richmond have wanted him for quite a while apparently, even enquired about him the last time his contract was up.

Wow, sounds like you have some intimate knowledge my friend.

Appreciate the info, certainly an area of concern for us and sometimes simplifying a limited players role is all it takes.

I'll be happy to provide what I can, within boundaries of course :)
Sydney were also keen on him, he told them he'd like to work with Dimma though.

I think they appreciate each other's work ethic, the good think is, you won't have to worry about Carrazzo round 1 if you upgrade him quick enough ;)

Haha I believe that was one of the first things mentioned haha.

Also he does seem to fit the Dimma criteria besides maybe his kicking?

Yup, absolutely.
His kicking needs a bit of work, his vision is more than fine, it's his execution which lacks polish.

He's a reasonable kick at goal, I see him as a back up for King if he goes down again too. Forward line tackling pressure.

He's very decent when resting forward, positions himself well, finds space well, often wins 1v1's, he just lacks pace.
The good thing is he'll get the opportunity to learn from Cotchin after learning from Jobe, can't be a bad thing for a man's game?

Awesome stuff from a fellow Toffee supporter.
Thanks for the info mate.
