Clark captains NSW most games. Not sure who is officially captain, because the game the Kat played Clark was injured. Bowling decently but not that threatening unfortunately

peter george - one test wonder :( - how he got a game when australia had bowlers such as: mitchell starc, josh hazelwood, trent copeland and ben cameron waiting in the wings is mystifying
jason krezja - 1 home test, 1 away test

players from other countries:

west indies:
jerome taylor
fidel edwards
daren powell

england
luke wright - was a sensation in england

india
fatcat ramesh powar :)
piyush chawla

sri lanka
farveez maharoof
chamila gamage laksheeta <-misspelled
lokurachi
michael vandort

new zealand
scott styris

pakistan -
mohammed zahid
ata ur rehman<- a wonderful pashto (afghani) name
hasan raza
usually the pakis disappear into obscurity and then all make come backs! :)

Mohammad Zahid could have been a star if it wasnt for injury and inconsistency. He got 11 wickets on debut bowling at lighting speeds, i also remember him making the great Brian Lara look scared in a one dayer in adelaide in the late 90s.

Mohammed Yousuf???

what happened to corey richards. he was supposed to be the next big star

Richards was Michael Clarke before Michael Clarke came along. Obviously didn't get a national team gig due to other NSW players standing in his way.

Whatever happened to Australia's next great leg spinner, Shannon Tubb?

Probably has something to do with George having a FC average of 28 (decidedly better than Starc at 35) and having taken 3 bags of 5-for (best 8/84) in the last Shield season. By the by, Hazelwood has only played a few FC games and isn't Cameron a batter?

No offence, but what i find mystifying is your post. George is cleary one of the best performed and more promising young bowlers we have in Shield. That is why he was given a Test and that is why we will be seeing him bowl for Australia in the future.

I remember Shannon Tubb. He was in my 97/98 sticker album on the Comm Bank rising stars page. Had an earring and everything, and being called a chinaman bowler but not looking Chinese, at the time I was like waaaat?

what i would like to know is. who was the person who said he would be the next great Australian leggy

How about Ricardo Powell from the Windies? Was meant to star in the 00/01 Carlton Series but dropped off the radar soon after.

Claude Henderson from RSA.

Richard Dawson from England.

Nixon McLean from the Windies.

That's the first time I heard of him too :p

I wasn't being entirely serious. Just a bit of cult hero mythologising, mainly due to his presence in aformentioned sticker album. From what I understand, there was a bit of buzz around him at a young age though.

Richard Dawson from England.

Lulz, such cannon fodder:

Nixon McLean from the Windies.

For some reason I remember him being really damaging in ODIs the first time he toured Australia, but then looking at his figures on that tour (3 wickets, 48.33 average, 4.26 economy rate, 68.0 strike rate), he didn't really do anything special.

mick lewis!?!

0-110? i remember following that game... somehow it transpired that lewis bowled all 10 and lee only 8 overs.
And it had been forgotten that Lewis had won us a ripping ODI against New Zealand just a couple of months earlier.
