I've just been thinking the logistics of the 6 teams in 3 hubs idea.
Ignoring the fact that round 1 has been played and assuming we aim for 17 rounds:
Teams 1-6 play each other
Teams 7-12 play each other
Teams 13-18 play each other.
First 5 "rounds" done. That parts easy.

Then.????
Maybe teams 1-3, 7-9, 13-15 join together in a hub and play the 6 teams you haven't played?
while similarly for 2-6, 10-12, 16-18.
This gets 6 more rounds done, 11 rounds total down, 6 to go.

Teams 1,2,3 need to play teams 10,11,12, 16,17,18
but teams 10,11,12 need to play teams 1,2,3, 13,14,15
teams 16,17,18 need to play teams 1,2,3, 7,8,9

How many actual separate rounds of isolation hubs are needed for each team to play all other 17 teams?
Is there a 2 week isolation period between each hub rearrangement?

Any idea how the mathematical modelling of this could work?

Afl should let minimal fans come when restart , As like not everyone going but fans could go into club ballot And certain ammount picked out and still use social distancing , like rows usually has 20 odd seats ? So put a person every 5 seats ? At least that way would be some fans watching live

Exiting...Entering distances...
Then Food outlets...
Then Public transport...
Toilets...

Leave the food outlets closed etc , public transport is still open currently , you could stagger entering/exiting times depending what bay /area seated in etc , toilets could be managed as it would be hardly overcrowded anyway but like a #lolnorff game .
All I’m saying is it’s possible to do and still have social distancing in place , there wouldn’t me a lot of people there but would at least give it something of an atmosphere

I do think the season will re-start in June. But i say this with some trepidation on the proviso that the number of cases goes down on a consistent basis.

Last few weeks i have been keeping tabs every day on the dept of health website (Victoria) to get daily updates. Most days upwards of 100 cases (not good).
2 days ago 49. Today 20. It can spike up of course but if there is a consistency of under 20-30 cases we can beat this sooner rather than later. I think in 4 weeks time we'll have a clearer indication at where we are at.

April 5, 2020 - The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Victoria is 1135 – an increase of 20 from yesterday.

So less than 2 weeks ago on my above post, we were averaging in Vic about 20 cases a day. Last 7 days we were ave about 8-10.
Yesterday there were 2 cases and I read 13 across Australia. Today in Vic we have one case of coronavirus.

This is very encouraging and surley by next month stage 3 restrictions will be lifted, I mean if the next 2 weeks stay below 3 or zero for that matter then footy will be back in June.

It’s not a real season anyways even if it gets off the ground asterix premier , anyways can you imagine a gf with no crowd there I can’t .
Yup.
I had absolutely zero interest in round one.
Imagine another 16 rounds and finals of it?
Do it properly or not at all.

Struggling to see how much benefit there's going to be with these hubs ? Taking hundreds of people - players, coach's, support staff, families, AFL staff etc - and dumping them all on top of one another together in a small town added with the fact that some people will undoubtedly have to come and go from the hub ? How do you monitor and control that ? Logistical nightmare as well supplies, tv networks and on and on.

Given the current infection rates is anyone that less likely under those circumstances to get infected in Wangaratta v the living, playing and operational approach that they were all under in Melbourne in round 1 plus whatever restrictions are in place when it kicks off ? I dunno...must be more net gain than I'm recognising.

I guess its good for players though as they will be at least getting paid most of there wage, and im presuming some people whom have lost jobs will come back as footy being played again and its better for clubs to be playing , but from my point of view as a fan i think its ordinary with no crowds at all. If they can least get fans back by finals if it goes ahead.

Lets hypothetically say we as a country get 3 weeks without any new cases , does this mean the virus is gone from oz ???

Depends whether you try to discover the spread that is happening without obvious symptoms. Presumably all this started from just one infection and could again.

the moment hubs are confirmed its a tainted flag

17 games is a legit flag with all teams playing eachother once

Yeah we need more testing to find those spreaders without obvious symptoms...their the hidden danger...

You tell me...
That’s what I am asking. You would be more likely to be exposed at the supermarket especially in the fruit and veg section Then at the footy in my opinion. MCG with 30000 max attendance shitihad with 15000 max could work once a few more restrictions are lifted.

Couldn't have said it better or agree with you more Tugga. If there's no fans there, I truly don't care. Haven't even watched the so called round 1 game.

Gilligan decided when the decision will be made. I think he's been taking decisiveness training from Goodloss.

Meanwhile, I've decided to watch the history channel instead of Fox footy.
I've already learnt the art of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics.

A stylised demon, another stylised demon, a chariot and a crescent means Two-tank-car-moon.

What makes a Supermarket different from the G and Etihad...
Always a danger whenever there are groups of people in a pandemic...especially with the carriers that have no symptoms...
